[Spoon-business] Orc starts proposing

I got 3 proposals to make. The 4th I haven't disclosed what it'll be about yet (but it's not scam or society related, thank goodness), and the 5th I can't remember. If anyone can remember another prop I talked about making, please let me know. If I can't remember it, I got others to go with, though. By the way, Bandwidth contributions to OrcTech would be appreciated and most likely rewarded.

Well, here's my props:

I propose the following rule:
{{__Races__
Each Player and Gremlin has an attribute called Race. The default Race is Undefined, except for Gremlins, whose race is Gremlin. The Yeti has a Race, which is Yeti.

Objects that have a Race also have the attributes Strength (STR), Speed (SPD), Wits (WIT), and Alcohol Tolerance (TOL). Following is a list of Standard Races, and values for some of the attributes of objects that have the races:

Race STR SPD WIT TOL Gender
Human  10  3   10   5  Male/Female
Orc    16  2    6  10  Male/Female
Dwarf  14  2    9  10  Male/Female
Elf     8  4   15   4  Male/Female
Ogre   20  3    1  15  Male/Female
Fairie  3  3   18   1  Male/Female
Blob    8  2   10  16  Drone
Alien  11  3   12   3  Male/Female/Drone
Insect 13  3    6   6  Male/Female
Droid 6 2 8 0 Drone [[It sucks, but I'm thinking special Droid upgrades]]

The Gender in the above table is the legal Genders for objects that have the race, if the object has a gender. The gender of an object may not be changed if that gender is not legal for the race of that object. If an object has a gender that is illegal for its race, its gender is changed to a random legal gender for that race. This paragraph takes precedence over Rule 295.

The default values for these attributes are as follows:
STR: 10
SPD: 3
WIT: 10
TOL: 5

Events may give + or - to STR, SPD, WIT, or TOL to an object. If such occurs, then while the event applies, the object's appropriate attribute is modified by that amount. All modifiers stack.

If a carryable object 'gives +/- # ATTR', where # is a number and ATTR is STR, SPD, WIT, or TOL, then while that object is in the possession of an entity with that attribute, the modifier applies to that entity.
}}

I propose the following:
{{__Lots o' Stuff__

Change the first sentence of section A.2. of Rule 1077 to:
{{
Strip Mining has a Cost of 75 BNS and a Quality Cost of 100 BNS [[lots of refining]].
}}

Add the following to the end of Section A.2 of Rule 1077
{{
If the Quality Cost of Strip Mining is paid, a 1d100 is rolled, and the Miner gains the following based on the roll:

1-79: Nothing
80: 1 Amethyst
81: 1 Emerald
82: 1 Sapphire
83: 1 Topaz
84: 1 Ruby
85: 1 Diamond
86: 1 Rice Ball
87: 1 Giant Stone Talon
88: 1 4x9x16 Black Slab
89: 1 Bone Xylophone
90: 1 Stone Wheel
91: 1 Doggy Bone
92: 1 Old Coin
93: 1 Rusted-Out DeLorean
94: 1 Fossil [[see below for details]]
95: 1 Life Core (color: Brown
96: 2 Life Cores (color: Brown)
97: 1 Gold Nugget
98: 3 Gold Nuggets
99: 1 Master Sword
100: 1 Amulet of Trebor

If a 99 or 100 are rolled, and one of the object produced by the Mining already exists, the die is rerolled. If any of the items on the above list are otherwise undefined, they are carryable passable grid objects. Life Cores, besides being that, have the Property Color. Fossils have the Properties Race and Type. When undefined, the Race of a Fossil is a random one of Human, Ape, T-Rex, Bronto, T-Rex, 3-Horn, and Pteranadon. [[Short names for brevity]] When undefined, the Type of a Fossil is a random one of Skull, Arm, Leg, Leg, or Torso.
}}
}}

Now then, let's patch up the damage that was done with societies just recently. I took out most of the custom definitions, and only have one unique definition in the rule:

I propose the following:
{{__Let's get them working right__
Change the entirety of Rule Rule 578, __Societies__ to the following:
{{
A. Definition
In this rule, Players, Societies, and Gremlins are Beings.

In this rule, all Dimensions are Properties, and Points and Entropy, if they are not Dimensions, are Properties too. A Society is a group of zero or more Beings. Those Beings are Members of the Society.
A Corporation is a class (or kind) of Society.

B. Society Charter
A Society must have a Charter, which dictates what actions it takes, under what conditions it takes them, and in what ways it takes. A Society takes legal actions as dictated by its Charter. If a Society's Charter is not defined, it is an empty string, and the Society is dictated no actions by its Charter. A Charter may make references to things outside the normal scope of this game. If it does, the Charter must either state a method for these things to be checked by the game [[ie - make it available to the admin]], or state a method for (a) Member(s) of that Society to state the relevant attributes or effects of those things, or the effects of these on the actions or the Society.

C. Society Actions

Societies may only take actions explictly permitted em in the rules.

C.1 General Actions
A Society may modify its Charter during the first 5 ndays of an nweek, if all of it members are Players or Societies whos members are all Players. Such changes do not take effect until the end of the nweek.

A Society may Accept any Being that is Requesting Admittance to the Society. When a Society Accepts an Being, that Being becomes a Member of that Society.

A Society may Oust any of its Members. A Member who is Ousted ceases to be a Member of that Society.

Any Being that has Points or BNS may transfer any positive amount of eir Points or BNS to any other Being that has Points or BNS, respectively. Players may transfer a positive amount of eir Bandwidth to any Society that is not a Corporation, provided that the Player's Bandwidth remains nonnegative.

A Society may State things.

Accepting an Being, Ousting a Member, changing its Charter, and making Statements are Managerial Actions. [[To shorten Charters]]

C.2 Proposals

Beginning in the nweek after the one in which they are created, Societies that are not Corporations may submit proposals just as Players can; these are referred to as Society Proposals, or Club Props. If the Charm of a Society would be changed by the rules as a result of voting, and the Society does not have that property, all members of that society get that change divided by the number of members in that society with that property, with the remainder assigned to randomly among those members. If the previous sentence would create an infinite loop, in the opinion of the administrator, then the change is assigned as the Administrator sees fit, or not at all. Submitting a proposal does require the society to have and pay bandwidth, just as it does with players.

When a Society submits a Proposal, it must state a Member of the Society who can propose (if e were freed of bandwidth restrictions) to be the Presenter of the Proposal. If a property is referenced in a rule that the Society does not have but the Presenter does, the rule looks to the Presenter's property. Such properties may result in restrictions on the proposal, as defined by the rules (This is for BAC and such. I'm pretty much making it such that one person actually delivers the prop).

A Society may not make proposals if it has less than 3 Members who are not On Leave, or the number of its Members is greater than one half the number of Off Leave Players in the game.

A Society may also revise or rescind eir current proposals, when it is not a voting period.

C.3 Incorporation

Any Society may Incorporate if it has not submitted any proposals duing the current nweek. When a Society Incorporates, it becomes a Corporation in addition to being a Society. Corporations do not have Bandwidth; any Bandwidth the Society had at Incorporation is lost.

C.4 Positions

Any Society may confer Positions onto its Members, and may witdraw positions it confers. Such Positions must have the form "X of Y", where X is a string and Y is the name of the Society. For brevity, when the Society in question has been made clear, just X may be used instead of X of Y; the Society in question is usually the Society in a Society's Charter. If any Member of a Society stops being a Member of it, e loses all Positions given by that Society.

D. Leaving a Society

Membership in Societies is voluntary. Any Member of a Society may at any time Leave the Society, ceasing to be a Member of the Society.

If a Society ever has no Members, it ceases to exist, unless another Rule or the Society's Charter states otherwise. If a Society has no Members for the entirety of an nweek, it ceases to exist unless another rule states otherwise. (If it didn't exist for part of the nweek, then it didn't have members at that time. Just clarification.)

When a Society ceases to exist (indcluding if it is destroyed), unless its Charter, a passed proposal, or a rule state otherwise, any proposals created by the society that have not been voted on are rescinded.

If a Member of a Society does not exist in the scope of this game, that Member ceases to be a Member of that Society. Being a member of a society is not existance, but a quality of existance [[duh]].

F. Resources
All Societies Properties Entropy, Points, and BNS.
All Societies that are not Coroporations have Bandwidth and Charm.
The default values for all of these is 0.
At the beginning of each nweek, the Bandwidth of each Society is set to 0.

If a Society has Entropy greater than or equal to the number of Members it has that can have Entropy, one Entropy it has is transferred to each of its Members that can have Entropy.

If a Society has Charm greater than or equal to the number of Members it has that can have Charm, one Charm it has is transferred to each of its Members that can have Charm.

Any Being that has Points may transfer any positive amount of Points to any other Being that can have Points. Eir Points must remain nonnegative.

Any Being that has BNS may transfer any positive amount of BNS to any other Being that can have BNS. Eir BNS must remain nonnegative.

Any Entity that has Bandwidth may transfer any positive amount of it to any Society. Eir Bandwidth must remain nonnegative.

G. Creating a Society

Each Player may, once per nweek, create a Society, at which time e must give it a uniquely identifying name. The given name must not misrepresent the gamestate or attempt to do so; if it does, the Administrator may Rectify it and all references to it. If e chooses, the creator of a Society may declare emself to be a member upon creation, in which case is is the only member upon creation; otherwise, the society has no members upon creation.
