More than an icon, it's more like a mother figure. And a big HELLO to all the Nomicron players who read this list!It seems to me that on the scale of Nomics, Nomicron is a considered, reasoned and deliberate game and B Nomic is more like the equivalent of throwing LogicGrenades.
By the standards of most Nomics, we are an impetuous, irresponsible, sloppy bunch of slackers with no understanding of causality who would rather sit around pretending to blow things up than engage in real thought; we propose at random and vote at random, and break the game regularly; where other Nomics establish disaster-prevention systems, we focus on disaster recovery systems.
Nomicron seems to be much more typical for a substantive Nomic (I don't presume to know anything about the procedurals) - it proceeds cautiously and never passes anything unless it's sure that the game won't be hurt by it. I'll bet Nomicron has never needed a SOE rule, nor has it ever suffered from admin burnout; our track record is much worse.
I know which one I find more fun *grins*
I wholeheartedly agree. I'll take sorry over safe any day.But that doesn't mean, Baron, that those who disagree aren't entitled to their own fun, even if we don't find it as exciting. Perhaps their ruleset is very slow by our standards; but I don't see why that means we can't have peaceful interactions with them.
Give me high explosives or give me death... no, wait, that doesn't quitework...
I could throw the Baron at you; e's not really a high explosive, but maybe I could Mix em with a Bomb gnome or something... :)
