spoon-business: How to resolve the record-keeping problem |
Perhaps I could be of assistance. I think that the easiest way for us to catch up with the records would be for me to just go ahead and win now. Then all the scores just get reset to zero. Here's how I plan to do this. All along, the Pooker proposal has been my tool for winning the game. As the Dealer, I own all the cards in the Deck, but have no Hand. However, the rules for Pooker never refer to a player's Hand, but only the Cards e owns, specifically those in the Red and Blue decks which are known as PCards. I was waiting to refine the Showdown proposal so winning would be as painless as possible, but I see now that there's no hope of getting a proposal passed until the next quorum vote, which may be a long way off at this rate. So here's what I'm doing. Owning more than ten cards (I in fact own 84), I declare a Showdown. I show the following Pooker Hands: Red Ace of Diamonds, Red Ace of Clubs, Red Ace of Spades, Red Ace of Hearts, Blue Ace of Hearts; Red King of Diamonds, Red King of Clubs, Red King of Spades, Red King of Hearts, Blue King of Hearts; Red Queen of Diamonds, Red Queen of Clubs, Red Queen of Spades, Red Queen of Hearts, Blue Queen of Hearts; Red Jack of Diamonds, Red Jack of Clubs, Red Jack of Spades, Red Jack of Hearts, Blue Jack of Hearts; Blue 10 of Diamonds, Red 10 of Clubs, Red 10 of Spades, Red 10 of Hearts, Blue 10 of Hearts; Red 9 of Diamonds, Red 9 of Clubs, Red 9 of Spades, Red 9 of Hearts, Blue 9 of Hearts; and Red 8 of Diamonds, Red 8 of Clubs, Red 8 of Spades, Red 8 of Hearts, Blue 8 of Hearts. These seven 5-of-a-kinds are worth 80 points each, or 560 points. It is entirely impossible for any combination of Pooker Hands in the cards owned by other players to beat 560 points, so I win the Showdown. The corresponding 560-point prize is paid to me directly from the Bank without involving the debt system, according to the rule entitled "Pooker: the Showdown". Because of the delay of the game, this rule was not numbered and is still sitting in Live Proposals, but it passed during the quorum vote. Its rule number would most likely be R395/0. The bank had at least 100 points before Aranor joined, and as a result of him joining it gained 500 more points via the "Money for Nothing" rule. The bank thus has at least 600 points, 560 of which it now transfers to me. Additionally, I own the following 20 rules: (Rule numbers in parentheses have been assigned ad hoc by me, based on the nweek 20 voting results) 1. R210/3, "Motion to Add Players" from P396/1, "Expediency of Player Creation" 2. R348/0, "Player Self-Creation" from P396/1, "Expediency of Player Creation" 3. R357/0, "Randal Judgements" from P415/0 4. R378/0, "Money for Nothing" from P433/0 5. R382/0, "Prevention of Voting Manipulation" from P441/0 6. R384/0, "Cards: Properties" from P449/0, "cards" 7. R385/0, "Cards: The Packs" from P449/0, "cards" 8. R386/0, "Cards: The Dealer" from P449/0, "cards" 9. R387/0, "Cards: Dealing" from P449/0, "cards" 10. R388/0, "Cards: Hands" from P449/0, "cards" 11. R389/0, "Cards: The Deck" from P449/0, "cards" 12. R390/0, "Cards: Dealer's Report" from P449/0, "cards" 13. R391/0, "Cards for Votes" from P449/0, "cards" 14. (R393/0), "Pooker: Definitions" from P456/1, "Pooker" 15. (R394/0), "Pooker: Trading" from P456/1, "Pooker" 16. (R395/0), "Pooker: the Showdown" from P456/1, "Pooker" 17. (R396/0), "Pooker: Scoring" from P456/1, "Pooker" 18. (R398/0), "Separation of Card Packs" from P459/0 19. R343/2, "C/RG: Mediocrity" from P463/0, "Mediocrity fix fix" 20. (R399/0), "Thug Time Limit" from P464/0 Thus: I have 560 Points (unless someone decides to top my Pooker score, which is entirely impossible), and 20 Rules, and by Rule 211/2 I win the game. -- Rob Speer
