For teucer’s first attempt [1] (where he replied to Wooble’s join request), I ruled that it didn’t count, as if we start looking at text quoted in replies as real content we may run into a bunch of madness, but there’s a good argument to be made that it should have worked per the current rules. I’ve accepted teucer’s later request [2], as well as Wild Card’s very recent request (though I haven’t officially said so to the Public Forum yet), where they each forwarded a message that they’d sent in the past requesting to be a player. Your message looked to me to contain a request to become a Player, and it contained a name for yourself, so it looks to me like it counts. It’s really amazing to me how much trouble our Rule 1-4 has been this time around, whereas a rule very much like it was a part of the game for a really long time while I was playing years ago without too much difficulty. My attempt at fixing it is Prop 1-4, but it likely itself has some holes. I do begin to wonder if just defining as a Player anybody who’s posted to a Public Forum within the last 45 days or somesuch may work better, and not even bother with this registration business.
