Which open mark and which close mark? The problem is that arguably:

                    [[ a ]] b [[  ]]
                    ^^            ^^
the comment starts here and ends here

so that b gets commented out by mistake. You need to specify that it
starts at an open mark and ends at the /next/ close mark.
