The old macks weren't objects. How "many" you had was the value of a
Property (with a Scope of all COOs and a Range of all natural numbers,
IIRC) and Properties were stupid and were (rightfully, I think)
destroyed by the refresh.

I'd say less broken, but likely more buggy - the new stuff hasn't been
tested out yet, so we don't know where its problems are, but it does
not have known fatal errors that would force an emergency aside from
the fact that all our ministries are empty. (Essentialness, I believe,
is just an easy way to search the wiki for the "core" rules - not
necessary, but harmless and probably occasionally convenient.)
