I've amended to make it clear that selling a device to the shop is a
commercial transaction - the word "selling" should be enough, but.

If it's a commercial transaction then to be valid, the rules have to
allow you to transfer the device to the shop.   And the device rules
say that you have to be the owner of the device to do that.
