MediaWiki looks nicer and has a number of features that we're not  
really using to their full potential, like subsection editing, the  
templating system, good support for attached files, etc.

What we previously used was MoinMoin, which is on the whole a more  
primitive wiki client, but which has the advantage of allowing python  
scripting. Thus, the automated proposing, etc. was all handled by  
python scripts I wrote.
