[[To encourage more technological research.]]

In subsection C of r1639, remove "4. Mining." and "5. Theft." from the list of Moves.

Change the Chutzpah of r1854 to 4.

In r1854:

Add the following after the first set of bullet points:
"A Technology may have Levels. If so, having it means that you have it at Level 1. Having a Technology at Level N means that you also have it at any Level < N."

Change "another entity can give the Technology to the entity (this does not cause the giving entity to lose the Technology)" to "another entity can agree to give the Technology to the em in exchange for eir performing an Action. This does not cause the giving entity to lose the Technology, and once such an agreement is made, it must be followed if legal."

This wouldn't be necessary if we still had Contracts. Is there any reason not to bring them back completely?

Add the following "SUFFICIENTLY ADVANCED" delimited paragraphs to the end of r1854:

SUFFICIENTLY ADVANCED
Double Voting is a Technology that costs 600*N research points for Level N. A Player who possesses Double Voting at Level N may cast N additional votes.

Extra Bandwidth is a Technology that costs 600*N research points for Level N. A Player who possesses Extra Bandwidth at Level N receives 2N extra BW at the beginning of each week.

Printing Tildex is a Technology that costs 800*N research points for Level N. A Player who possesses Printing Tildex at Level N receives 5N extra ~ at the beginning of each week.

Drawing is a Technology that costs 400*N research points for Level N. A Player who possesses Drawing at Level N may draw N extra cards each week.
SUFFICIENTLY ADVANCED

All of these, especially Double Voting, are far too powerful. Since there's no limit to the value of N, any points-gaining scam would now translate to complete dominance of the Ballot.

Also, Double Voting is unfair to newer players, since players who have been sitting around gaining research for a while will have considerably more voting power than the newbies will.

Oh, and this is insanely powerful given that having Tech at level N means you also have it levels less than N... so if I get Double Voting 3, I also have DV2 and DV1, meaning that I get six extra votes. Though the rule doesn't say on what or when, so maybe I'd just get 6 votes once to be used however I wanted, and I'd never get them again.
