Dave emailed me privately, to avoid resetting r0's "absence of the admin" counter (which now reads well over seven days). He tells me that as an on-call sysadmin he's expected to do work whenever they need him, and to work for long hours and strange hours if need be: last weekend (a holiday weekend, no less) he worked three straight twelve-hour days.

In terms of the game, this means he can't come back right now, and won't be able to for a long time, if ever. So we're on our own.

If he gets a chance, Dave's going to send me a tgz of database and the scripts he wrote to track it. I can distribute those to anyone else interested in helping admin the game, and we can figure out who's going to do what.

If anyone hasn't declared a SOE yet, now would probably be a good time to do so, as the game is frozen until we do.
