No. I do not tend to direct props at other players or societies, even if I think such might be a good idea. Otherwise, you would have seen props to yank out Iain, neuter M-Tek and vSOI (and now WBE), and more, within the first month of me joining. But I prefer to bring about change in way that's benficial to all, and soften the negative effects on anyone as much as possible. For example, I'd like to see gnome production be seperated from vSOI in the rules, but in any prop doing so, I'd make sure vSOI received a "Gnome Machine" or whatever that would let them continue their activities, for free.

You DID neuter M-Tek and WBE, and the neutering of M-Tek would have resulted in the yanking-out of Iain had it not been fixed in time. vSOI and Athena's Society weren't affected simply because neither one actually requires its members to do anything but sit around and get rich.

You misunderstand me. By neutering, I mean pretty much shut down all function. If the sole function of M-Tek was to leech of Iain, then maybe I did; but I did not think that was the sole purpose, and left all except the imbalanced leeching intact in M-Tek.

That's why I took it so personally: because it so directly affected me. Rules that affect everyone "equally" aren't all that altruistic if the effects are only felt by a minority.

They are altruistic if they aim to level the playing field. An analogy -- let's say that in some online game one character class or race or team or whatever has complete dominance over the others, due to an overlooked imbalance or a bug in the game. The game maker will be asked to, and usually will, issue a patch to level the playing field. While the players who had that unfair dominance will be most directly affected, and could very likely be in the minority, that's altruistic in my book.
