[spoon-discuss] Re: [Spoon-business] NWEEK 36 BALLOT

The Prez of M-Tek issues the M-Tek Position on this nweek's ballot:

>Proposal 1351/0: Subsections Revisited (Baron von Skippy)

Shelve. I see your point, but you don't say what happens with subsections of subsections of subsections.

>Proposal 1352/0: Oh Boy, Barney's On Fire! (Wonko)

Yes. The imagery of a giant flaming Barney is just irresistable.

>Proposal 1353/0: Council Fix! (Glotmorf)

Shelve. Should be a majority vote by councilors. And it's not my prop.

>Proposal 1354/0: Barney gets caffeinated (bd)

No. This would effectively destroy a speeder that Barney encounters at the beginning of a wired nweek, as said speeder would be dragged along by Barney and get hugged over and over. That seems a bit much.

>Proposal 1357/0: That Sounds Swell! (The Administrator)

Yes. But only because we can all see what's coming next...

>Proposal 1358/0: CRC Ban, Part II (Anything McGee)

Hmm. Yes.

>Proposal 1359/0: Who Stole My Transparencies? (Anything McGee)

No. There is, I admit, something to be said for being able to verify what someone voted, since the Baron claims eir vote wasn't what the Administrator reported, but secret voting has been a part of the game for a long time, and adds a certain seasoning to the mix.

>Proposal 1360/0: They Paved Paradise (Anything McGee)

No. Elevation is a current factor in the game. Witness Wonko's recent strip-mining.

>Proposal 1361/0: Game Off (Anything McGee)

Shelve. Football's been fairly idle, but no more so than other elements of the game. Give this an nweek or two, since the Baron's trying to get the ball.

>Proposal 1362/0: In True Survivor Style (The Voice)

No. This makes it ever-so-slightly harder for people to do something they need a reminder to do anyway.

>Proposal 1363/0: "Add"ing Things Up (The Voice)

No. The Administrator's opinion of where something should be added may be sufficiently different from mine that I'd rather not see em adding things to the ruleset per eir whim. The same text can have totally different meanings in different locations.

>Proposal 1364/0: Typing, mistyping, and leftovers (Sheeba)

Yes, for the second item. The first item could have been fixed by telling the Administrator.

>Proposal 1365/0: Drunken Driver (Sheeba)

Yes.

>Proposal 1366/0: I wonder what this button does...? (bd)

No. No nuclear land mines.

>Proposal 1367/2: Mis(s )Ty(/i)p(p)ing (Sheeba)

Yes. Let there be a gridwalker.

>Proposal 1368/1: Arr, Mateys! (Baron von Skippy)

Sure. Let's sell more turrets.

>Proposal 1369/1: The Ruleset, Now With 0.7% Less Confusion (The
>Administrator)

Yes.

>Proposal 1370/0: Squeeze THAT, Punk (M-Tek)

Yes.

>Proposal 1371/0: The Borg (Baron von Skippy)

No. I consider this unit too powerful.

>Proposal 1372/1: Council Fix Fix (The Voice)

Shelve. "approved or denied" isn't defined in the context of the proposal or the existing rule. Also, "the three ndays before the vote is called" would extend into the prior nweek.

>Proposal 1373/0: Powerful, but not *that* powerful (Wonko)

Yes.

>Proposal 1374/0: Safety Valve (Glotmorf)

Yes.

>Proposal 1375/0: New Form Bonus (Wonko)

Yes. Interesting phrasing. Considering starting a...literary society?

>Proposal 1376/0: void main(struct {int x} c) (bd)

No. It doesn't say where the Nasal Demon is created, and it is possible for the thing to detonate when it's in a square with a player other than the responsible one. In other words, I could invoke Rule 6, position myself so that another player is between me and the Nasal Demon, and watch said player get blown up.

>Proposal 1377/0: Sing Along! (Wonko)

No. Rap is technically considered music, and therefore gives too much leeway.

>Proposal 1378/1: mmm, donuts (bd)

"Your face is flushed, sir. Have you been drinking?"
"Your eyes are glazed, officer. Have you been eating donuts?"

No. Biggest problem I see with this is that there's no motivation for actually having a donut. Aside from that, I like the current offense-driven cop system.
