spoon-discuss: RE: spoon-business: Proposal: What's in a Name. |
As one of the last players to join Berserker before the collapse, I noticed a simmilar phenomenon. There were some proposals that I made and thought were particularly clever that were voted down. I now realize that it simply takes time for the members of a game to get used to the style of any new joiner. We come to assume a sort of unwritten set of conventions about what can be done, and any change to this must come gradually. Besides, this game is very much in the "just getting started" phase. We all have different ideas of where we want it to go; it is inevitable that some ideas will be trampled down. Josh and I are the only two that have voiced our categorical opposition to any name whatsoever. And no, clever attempts to get around that won't fool me. However, it might still be possible to get a name passed without our support. I think this must be a first, because if you look back at Berserker, I don't think we ever agreed on anything.
