[s-b] Proposal Revision: To B or not to B |
I revise the proposal titled "To B or not to B" to be the following: {{ Amend Rule 1-4 by replacing: {{ An External Force may become a Player by posting a message to a Public Forum containing a request to become a Player and a uniquely identifying name that e wishes to be known by. He may do this if and only if he fulfills the following requirements: * He is capable of passing a Membership Test, although he may not be required to take said test * He is not currently a Player * He has a working e-mail address }} with {{ As a Game Action, an External Force may become a Player without 2 objections. }} [[Instead of trying to be "technical" and restricting all cases that could be a problem, let it be more of a judgment call on a case-by-case basis.]] Amend Rule 1-4 by replacing the following: {{ A player may change his name at any time, unless otherwise prohibited, by posting a message to a Public Forum, stating his intent to do so, and clearly stating both his "old" and "new" names. Such name changes take effect upon recognition by the Registrar. The Registrar may refuse to allow any External Force to become a player, and may refuse to recognize any otherwise-legal name change, if e believes the External Force's proposed name (or existing player's new name) would be ambiguous or confusing, or could otherwise damage the integrity of this game. The Registrar is encouraged, but not required, to state the reason for such refusal. }} with {{ A Player, as a Game Action without 2 objections, can change his name to any other valid name as defined by the Rules. }} [[I initially left out the ability to refuse a name change and this is now handled by the Players. Rest of the text is obsolete due to the first amendment]] Amend Rule 1-10 by replacing the following: {{ A Game Action is defined as any activity specified by the rules to be a Game Action. Other Outsiders may also take Game Actions if explicitly permitted by the rules. To perform a Game Action, an Outsider must post a message to a Public Forum specifying that he is taking that action. He must also specify any targets and/or parameters necessary for that action [[for example, you must specify a proposal in order to vote against a proposal]]. He may list multiple actions that he wishes to take, in which case he takes them in the order he lists them. He may also state a specific positive integer to perform a particular action that many times (if legal, of course) sequentially. The Rules also have the power to cause an Outsider to take Game Actions whether he posts or not. }} with {{ A Game Action is defined as any activity specified by the rules to be a Game Action. Game Actions can only be performed by Players unless otherwise specified in the Rules. A Game Action is performed by posting a message to a Public Forum specifying the action being taken and any targets and/or parameters necessary for that action. Multiple actions may be specified, and if so, are performed in the order listed. A Game Action may also state a specific positive integer to perform a particular action that many times (if legal, of course) sequentially. The Rules also have the power to cause an Outsider to take Game Actions whether he posts or not. }} [[Allows Game Actions by External Forces required for the first amendment. Also opens up who and what can perform Game Actions as being Players unless permitted elsewhere (and avoids directly naming the entity)]] Repeal Rule 1-17. [[Obsolete]] }} - Hose _______________________________________________ spoon-business mailing list spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/spoon-business
