[s-b] Proposal: Crazy Eddie's House Of Fun |
Amended proposal "Crazy Eddie's House Of Fun": [[Now defines the commercial transaction that takes place when you sell a device to the shop.]] This proposal depends on the proposals "Currency" and "Devices". Create a rule "Commerce": {{ When the rules specify a "commercial transaction", it means that two "punter" objects each simultaneously transfer, pass or give a "substance" to the other. Punter objects are objects that are allowed to transfer, pass or give a substance to another punter object. A substance is something that the rules say is allowed to be transferred, passed or given between the punter objects. This may be, but is not limited to: a game object; a value or part of a value stored in an attribute or other property of an object. The rules must explain exactly how each transfer that forms part of the commercial transaction takes place. Should one of the two transfers not be possible under the rules, then neither takes place. If the punter object is a player, ey must agree to the commercial transaction via a game action, or must make some other game action which the rules state counts as agreeing to the transaction. If the punter object is not a player, the rules must explicitly describe how it deals with a commercial transaction. Nothing in this rule enables a transfer to take place unless another rule explicitly allows it. The following game terms imply a commercial transaction: "buying", "selling", "purchase", "sale", "swapping". There may be other game terms that imply a commercial transaction. }} Create a new rule "Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm)" {{ The object "Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm)" (also known as "the shop") is both a currency owner object and a device owner object. In any given nweek the shop is either "open" (in which case it is able to buy and sell devices) or "closed" (in which case it is not). Non-unique devices are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. A player may request the purchase of a non-unique device by a game action, in which case a commercial transaction takes place in which the player gives the price in mackerels to the shop, and the shop transfers the device to the player. If the player does not have enough mackerels, or the shop does not have any of the requested device, or the shop is closed, then the game action is invalid and nothing happens. Unique devices are sold by auction. A player may bid for a unique device that the shop owns via a game action. At the end of the nweek the player who has made the highest valid bid for a given device is deemed to have entered into a commercial transaction where ey gives the price ey bid (in mackerels) to the shop and the shop transfers the device to em. Bids made while the shop is closed, or for devices that the shop does not own, or for more mackerels than the player has at the end of the nweek, are invalid. Every nweek Crazy Eddie posts either a declaration that the shop is closed, or a list of every device the shop owns; each non-unique item on the list has a price against it. Players can also attempt to sell devices to Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm). If the shop is open and has enough mackerels to pay, it will buy a non-unique device for no less than m1 and a unique device for no less than m10. The actual price offered may be more; the decision is up to Crazy Eddie. When the shop buys a device, a commercial transaction takes place in which the player transfers the device to the shop and the shop gives the player the agreed amount in Mackerels. The player must make a game action agreeing to the sale. For the purposes of this rule "at the end of the nweek" means after any rules regarding the end-of-nweek actions of subgames have been dealt with. }} Create a new rule "Crazy Eddie's Initial Stock": {{ This rule lists some devices which exist in the game. *Name: Fish Slice *Uniqueness: Unique *Owner: Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm) *Effect: Allows user to exchange mackerels for points at an exchange rate of m5 -> 1pt *Conditions: None *Trigger: The owner makes a game action specifying how many mackerels ey wants to exchange After the effect has been triggered, the device ceases to exist and an identical device appears. This new device is owned by the shop. *Name: Flounder Card *Uniqueness: Non-Unique *Number exists: 7 *Owner: Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm) *Effect: The owner may give up to m40 to another COO even if this would bring eir mackerels attribute negative *Conditions: The owner must have more than 20 points when ey performs the mackerel-giving game action If the player's mackerels drop below -m20 then the device immediately disappears and the player's points change to 0. Powers: * Crazy Eddie decides the prices for non-unique items sold in the shop. * Crazy Eddie decides how much to pay for devices offered to him for sale. * Crazy Eddie decides whether the shop is open in a given nweek. Responsibilities: * To post each nweek before the end of nday 2 either a notice to the effect that the shop is closed this nweek, or a list of every device owned by the shop, with prices for the non-unique items. * If the shop was open the previous nweek, to post before the end of nday 2 a "tax return", showing: ** the opening balance from the last return. ** a list of every device sold, showing buyer and price. ** a list of every device bought, showing seller and price. ** the total profit. ** the award to the pot holster [[see below]]. ** the closing balance. All currency should be shown in mackerels. [[The tax return keeps Eddie honest, and helps the Administrator update point and currency totals.]] * To run the sale of every non-unique device owned by the shop, every nweek that the shop is open. * To run and arbitrate the auction for each unique device owned by the shop, every nweek the shop is open. * To buy any device offered in sale to the shop, providing the shop has enough money to cover the minimum price. [[See the shop rule.]] Sensure: No award: that is, no award this nweek based on last nweek's sales. Restrictions: * The pot holster (that is, the player) may not buy a non-unique item from the shop if the shop owns only one of it. * The pot holster (that is, the player) may not bid for unique items after nday 9 in any given nweek. Awards: 10% of the profit made by Crazy Eddie's House of Fun (tm) in the previous nweek is transferred to the the pot holster once the tax return for the previous nweek has been posted. If Crazy Eddie fails to declare the shop open before the start of nday 3, then the shop is closed for that nweek. }} _______________________________________________ spoon-business mailing list spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/spoon-business
