[Spoon-business] Reviving the Nomic Market idea |
I propose the following rule: {{__Nomic Market__ The sovreign nation of B Nomic harbors a non-isolationist view on trade. A. A Market Nomic is defined as any Nomic recognized in this section of this rule as a Market Nomic. All Nomics are welcome to petition B Nomic or other Nomics to recognize them as Market Nomics All players are encouraged to urge players of other Nomics to do this. Any Market Nomic which fails to have the text of Section D of this rule in its ruleset either verbatim or in a recognizable variant form is not a Market Nomic regardless of whether it is listed in this rule or not. B Nomic is a Market Nomic. B. Section C of this rule consists of B Nomic's List of Export Goods. Every Market Nomic is encouraged to publish such a list in a public space. B Nomic will maintain a public copy seperate from the ruleset for easy reference. Each item on a List of Export Goods must include a blurb describing its effects on the game. Any B Nomic Player is permitted to take part in a Transaction, consisting of the transfer of one or more Export Goods from a player in any Market Nomic to a player in any other. C. List of Export Goods of B Nomic: Points. These are used to track a player's score. In B Nomic, a player may win by having sufficient Points; this may be the case in other Nomics as well. B Nomic Shillings. These have no in-game effect. They are used as a medium of exchange. Bandwidth Chits. A player may submit a proposal at the cost of a single Bandwidth Chit. The Pink Cashmere Scarf of Impeccable Style. A male player who posesses this may only post publicly with a lisp. A female player with it must post in the style of Jane Austen. A player of Drone gender with the Scarf must include the strings *buzz* and *crackle* randomly in eir posts as a result of its excessive static electricity. The posessor of the Scarf is known as the Style Police. Alcoholic Beverages. Drinking an alcoholic beverage destroys it, as well as raising the player's Blood Alcohol Content. The rules may specify other effects for various types of alcohol. Drinking a Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster must have the effect of creating 250 Points in the posession of the player who does so, and may or may not have any other effects. Non-Alcoholic Beverages. Drinking a non-alcoholic beverage destroys it, as well as causing other effects which may be specified in the rules. Chocolate Eclairs. Eating a Chocolate Eclair destroys the Eclair and makes the player more charming. A player may smear an Eclair e posesses on any object. Doing so destroys the Eclair and has any effects stipulated in the rules. The Galactic Institute's Prize for Extreem Cleverness. Every nweek [[ten ndays in duration]], the posessor of this object gains five points. T-Shirts. These are just cool things to have. Each one has some text on the front and some on the back. Hats. These have a short text on the front, and are another random display of style. Nametags. These have a short text on them, beginning with "Hello, My Name Is:". They're fun to own. Cards. B Nomic maintains a Cardlist, which indicates what happens when Cards are played. They can have all sorts of nifty in-game effects. The rules may of course limit a player's card playing. D. When a player in this Nomic is in posession of an Export Good originating in another Market Nomic, that Export Good has the effects which were stipulated one nweek [[ten ndays]] previously by that Market Nomic's List of Export Goods. The mailing list nomicmarket@xxxxxxxxx is recognized as a Public Forum whose purpose is limited to the exchange of Export Goods. If a player of this Export Nomic transfers an Export Good to a player in another Nomic in that forum, the Export Good is no longer owned by that player but by the recipient of the Export Good. Similarly, if a player of another Market Nomic transfers an object to a player of this Nomic, that player comes to posess that particular Export Good. A player may transfer any Export Good to a player of a different Market Nomic which that player would legally be able to transfer to a player of this Nomic. E. Unless explicitly prohibited by another rule, a player may transfer any Export Good in eir posession to any other player. }} - Teucer ragnarok@xxxxxxxxx teucer@xxxxxxxxxx _______________________________________________ spoon-business mailing list spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/spoon-business
