[Spoon-business] prop: More Raw Materials

I propse the following:
{{__More Raw Materials__
In this proposal, -'s are used to represent whitespace in tables, in an attempt to improve readability, and may be replaced by other appropriate whitespace characters upon implementation.

Create the following rule:
{{__Resources__
In this rule, the following and only the following are Entities: Players, Gremlins, and Societies.

Each Player and Society has the following Properties, which are Integers:
Wood
Stone
Metal
Oil
Fiber

Those Properties may be collectively referred to as Resources.
Any Entity may transfer any positive amount of any Resource e has to any other Entity that has that Property, as long as that transfer does not change any Entity's Resources to a negative value.

There may exist Passabile Stationary Grid Objects named Recycling Centers. Each Recycling Center may be owned by an Entity. Ownership may not be changed except as specified in the rules. Any Entity that is in the same Location as a Recycling Center may Recycle a Recyclable Object in eir possession with that Recycling Center. This destroys the Object and increases the Resources of the Owner of the Recycling Center as follows:
Object-----------Wood-Stone-Metal-Oil-Fiber
Beer Can---------00---00----10----00--00
Ball of Wax------00---00----00----05--00
Towel------------00---00----00----00--10
Pile of Kindling-10---00----00----00--03
Big Sticks-------20---00----00----00--00
Athames----------03---00----15----00--00
Small Lump-------00---02----30----03--03
Sledge-O-Matic---20---00----25----00--01
Shield-----------02---02----40----02--04
Large Lump-------03---05----50----05--05

All Objects in the above table are Recycleable. Objects are Recycleable only as specified in the rules. If a Recyclable Object is recycled at an unowned Recycling Center, the Entity who Recycled it gets one half, rounded down, of the Resources the Owner would get if there was one.

If the Location of a Recycling Center has the substance Fire, it is destroyed.

Any Entity may construct a Recylcing center for 100 points, or for 20 points, 10 Wood, 3 Stone, 50 Metal, 15 Oil, and 10 Fiber. This creates the Recyling Center in a Square of eir choice.
}}
[[end Rule __Resources__]]

Create one unowned Recycling Center in Limbo. Create one Recycling center owned by WBE at each Wealthy Bastard Speeder Garage.

Repeal Rule 1073.

Remove from Rule 21 Secions A, B.3, and C.
[[Yes, besides units cleanup, this removes automatic exchange rates, but in reality exchange rates are determined by the market--i.e. the players. We can trade freely; exchange rates are whatever two people agree on.]]

Change Rule 1075 to the following:
{{
A. Definition

Airspeeders may be Upgraded.
Each Upgrade sold by WBE has a Price in BNS, has Resource Cost(s) in different Resources, is either Reversable or Non-Reversable, is either Integrated or External, and has a Size. All upgrades are Non-Reversable, Integrated, and have a Size of 0, unless the rules specify otherwise.

A.1 Purchasing

Any player may upgrade an Airspeeder in eir possession provided that e has BNS equal to or exceeding the price of that upgrade, WBE has Resources at least equal to the respective Resource Costs of the upgrade, the Airspeeder's remaining Upgrade Space exceeds or equals the Size of the upgrade, and the airspeeder being upgrade does not already have that upgrade. When a player upgrades an Airspeeder in this fashion, e pays the price of the upgrade in BNS to WBE, WBE's Resources are decreased by the appropriate Resource Costs of the upgrade, the Airspeeder's Upgrade Space decreases by the Size of the Upgrade, and the Airspeeder gets the upgrade.

A.2 Returns

If a player has an Airspeeder that is Upgraded, and that upgrade is reversable, then e may Reverse the Upgrade. When a player reverses an Upgrade, BNS equal to 2/3 (rounded down) of the price of that upgrade is transferred from WBE to that player, unless this is more BNS than WBE has, in which case all of WBE's BNS is transferred instead. [[Note that this means you get no money if you return an upgrade when WBE is bankrupt]] Additionally, when an Upgrade is reversed, 9/10 of it's Resource Costs, rounded down, is added to WBE's approprate Resources, the Upgrade Space of the Airspeeder which had the Upgrade increases by the Size of the Upgrade, and the upgrade is destroyed.

A.3 Destruction

If a single event causes a Speeder which has External Upgrades to lose more than 20 points of integrity, 1d3 is rolled. On a 1, a randomly chosen External Upgrade of that Speeder is destroyed, and a Small Lump of Scrap Metal is created at the Speeder's location.

B. Upgrades
WBE sells the following Upgrades:

Name---------Cost-W--S--M--O--F--Size-Rev-Ext
Afterburners-100--01-00-08-02-00-0----No--No
Vert Booster-120--04-02-25-05-01-0----No--No
Vert Coaster-090--02-01-15-05-02-0----No--No
Storage Bin--070--10-00-20-00-05-1----Yes-No
Cargo Bay----100--05-03-35-00-10-2----Yes-No
Tractor Beam-080--00-10-40-15-05-.5---Yes-Yes
Remote-------120--00-02-10-01-01-0----Yes-No
RoboPilot----220--10-10-80-20-10-2----Yes-No
Laser Gun----110--00-10-50-15-05-.5---Yes-Yes
W=Wood, S=Stone, M=Metal, O=Oil, F=Fiber, Rev=Reversable, Ext=External

B.1 Upgrade Effects
A Speeder with Afterburners may move one additional space per nweek.

The movements of a Speeder with a Vert Booster are not affected by the relative depths of the squares it moves through.

A Speeder may not be equipped with a Vert Coaster unless it already has a Vert Booster. A Speeder with Vertical Coasters may move onto a square which contains an Impassable object, provided that it then immediately moves again to a square which does not contain an Impassable Object. The Speeder and anything in it are treated as if they did not enter the location of an impassible object.

If a Speeder has a Storage Bin, the owner of the speeder, if e is in the Speeder, may put Carryable Objects which e possesses in the Bin, or pick up Carryable Objects that are in the Bin. Objects in a speeders Storage Bin move with the Speeder, and are considered to be in the same Location as it, and are considered to be carried for rules regarding manipulation of objects. No more than 4 objects may be put in a Storage Bin. If an airspeeder is destroyed, all objects in its Storage Bin are destroyed as well, except Gremlins, which go into Hiding instead.

A Speeder may not be equipped with a Cargo Bay unless it already has a Storage Bin. When a Speeder is equipped with a Cargo Bay, its Storage Bin is destroyed. Cargo Bays are Storage Bins, except that they may hold up to 10 Grid Objects.

If a player occupies a Speeder which e owns and which has a Tractor Beam attached to it, e may use the Tractor Beam to move any Carryable Object within 1 unit of the Speeder into the Speeder's Cargo Bay, if the Speeder has one. A Tractor Beam may not be used more than three times per nweek.

If a Speeder has a Remote, then its owner may cause it to move regardless of whether or not e occupies that Speeder.

A Speeder may not be equipped with a RoboPilot unless it already has a Remote. While a Speeder is equipped with a RoboPilot, the upgrade Remote Control which it has may not be reversed. The Owner of a Speeder with an unnamed RoboPilot may name the RoboPilot, provided the name does not break any rules regarding any names; these names are subject to the same rules as Style Attributes. If a Speeder has a RoboPilot, then its owner may cause that Speeder to do any of the following regardless of whether or not e occupies that Speeder:
Move
Use a Tractor Beam
Fire a Weapon
Drop an object that is in its Cargo Bay

If a player occupies a Speeder which e owns and which has a Laser Gun attached to it, e may use the Laser Gun to Shoot at any other Airspeeder within 3 units of the firing Speeder's location. When this happens, that Airspeeder's Integrity decreases by 4d3. A Laser Gun may not be fired more than once per nweek. A Speeder may be equipped with up to five laser guns.
}}
[[end change to rule 1075]]

Change rule 1077 to the following:
{{
Entities may Mine Squares that contain no Grid Objects, as subject to the rules. [[So you are responsible for removing or destroying everything first.]]

The square to be mined must be accessible from an Service Mall square. The distance from said square to the square to be mined is not a factor; it is only necessary that a valid movement path can be navigated between the two squares, that a Player could successfully navigate.

Once Mining is started, it takes place over the rest of the current nday and all of the next. No Object may enter the square being mined for the duration of this period, and no Mining may be started on any Square that is being Mined.

A. Types of Mining

Mining can be conducted in one of three ways: Quarrying, Strip Mining, and Driling.

A.1. Quarrying

Quarrying can be performed for a cost of BNS 50 on a Big Rock. If the Big Rock is unoccupied by a siren, it is automatically successful. If the Big Rock has a siren, quarrying is successful on a roll of 5 on a 1d5; any other result means the contractors spend all their time checking out the babe.

If quarrying is successful, the Big Rock disappears, and the type of square formerly occupied by the Big Rock becomes gravel, and the Entity gains 20 Stone.

A.2. Strip Mining

Strip Mining can be conducted for a cost of BNS 75 on a square that is not of type mud, does not contain a brook, is not occupied by any grid object, and the mining is otherwise legal.

Once strip mining has been performed, the elevation of the Square is reduced by one, and its substance is changed to a random one of Rock, Water, Earth, and Gravel. If the new or old type is Rock or Gravel, the Entity gains 20 Stone, and gains 1d10 Metal. (Note that this is done twice if both the original and new types were Rock or Gravel.

A.3. Drilling

Drilling can be conducted for a cost of 100 BNS on a Square that contains no Stationary or Impassable Objects. If if is performed, a 1d20 is rolled, and the Entity gains the following based on the roll:
01-05: nothing
06-10: 5 Stone
11-13: 10 Stone, 3 Metal
14-16: 5 Stone, 5 Metal
17-18: 5 Oil
19-19: 20 Oil
20-21: 30 Oil [[See below for 21]]

If the roll is 1 or 2, then Oil was found, but It was lighted. The square's substance becomes fire [[and will remain that way until it's put out]], and no Mining may be performed for the rest of the nweek. When paying for Drilling, the Entity may pay an extra 50 BNS to cause the Drilling to take an extra nday, but 1 is to the roll to determine results.
}}
[[end changes to rule 1077]]
}}
[[end proposal]]

I've renamed a lot of Upgrades (Afterburners just sound cooler than Thrust Upgrades), and really redid Mining a lot. I replaced Tunneling because the Grid is no longer pseudo-3D, and put in Drilling, which may result in Oil. I also made Mining take time, put a limit on how much can be done, put in a requirement that there be nothing in the square [[so you gotta move everything first, or just mine one of the 300 empty squares]], took out prospecting because that's just more to keep track of, and various other changes.

As I was working, I thought about including Glass and Sand as resources, but figured we had enough to be interesting, and any more would just be complicating.

As usual, I welcome all feedback. Anyone who feels that their feedback is lengthy and consists primarily of things to be changed would probably do everyone a favor by sending it directly to me, so people won't have to read about problems that I'll fix.
