spoon-business: The first non-Nomic-related e-mail over this forum... Whee.

Not Nomic-related, and thus far, far more important than anything ever written here. Here's the lowdown:

I was notified from one of the people in my address book of a virus e had contracted: Sure enough my address book was infected, which means yours will be also. I have the fix below.

According to the contact who alerted me, er very updated McAfee virus checker did not catch it, nor did my Norton. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not deleted by Norton or McAfee Anti-virus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It's sent automatically by the messenger and by the Address Book, whether or not you sent emails to your contacts. I have checked, found it, and deleted it.

Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it:

DO THIS:
1. Go to Start, Find, or Search option
2. In the files/folder option, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
3. Be sure you search your "C" drive
4. Click "find now"
5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe
DO NOT OPEN IT!
6. Right click and delete it. It will then go to the Recycle Bin
7. Go to the Recycle bin and delete it there as well.
IMPORTANT
If you find the virus, you must contact all the people in your address book so they can eradicate it in their own address books. Gosh, this is exciting- there's no fix, just a repair. Remember to follow the above steps for a long, long time, as I'm sure this thing will ricochet around ad infinitum... If I find the creator, I will make er life very, very painful- I will force em to read and write an analysis of evre spoon-discuss message that is sent, until this game folds, at which point, I'll start em over with the first messages... Muahaha.

                                           Cheers,
                                             BvS
