    I agree.  And that's why I ended up with Turkey.  :-)  The trouble is:
how do you stop someone from paying too much for something they really want?
I don't see how you can prevent people from bidding foolishly if they want
to.

Why is that a problem? If you overstretch on the bids, you will probably lose. Kind of a self-correcting problem.
