FW: [eia] relief battle clarification |
Here is the original question in this debate and my first reply. I now realize that I was wrong then and here is why: Per 7.5.4.2.3, "If the besieged force attacks with the help of "relieving forces" (i.e., external corps entering from another area) _or these relieving forces attack without assistance from any part of the besieged force_ a limited field combat instead of a defender attack combat is fought". Since Russian troops are entering the area (from another area) and declaring an attack (without assistance from any part of the besieged force) it seems to me that it is clearly a limited field battle. -----Original Message----- From: James Helle [mailto:jhelle@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, April 22, 2005 5:48 PM To: public list for an Empires in Arms game Subject: RE: [eia] relief battle clarification That seems to me to be a correct interpretation. -----Original Message----- From: eia-bounces@xxxxxxxxx [mailto:eia-bounces@xxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Joel Uckelman Sent: Friday, April 22, 2005 5:41 PM To: eia@xxxxxxxxx Subject: [eia] relief battle clarification For the battle about to take place at Glogau, my understanding is that my army does not count as a relieving force, because I am attacking sometime other than during the besieged garrison's land phase. (See 7.5.4.2, Defender Attacks Besieger. Specifically, 7.5.4.2.3.) Is that how everyone else understands it? -- J. _______________________________________________ eia mailing list eia@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/eia _______________________________________________ eia mailing list eia@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/eia
