Right, but I'm wondering about army commanders, not naval commanders.
Naval combat involved getting much closer to enemy cannon than did
land combat, at least from the commander's point of view, and Lord
Nelson was a real charge-in, damn-the-torpedoes sort of guy to begin
with; so I'm inclined to think that in Nelson's case 1/216 is a
lowball estimate.
