Re: [eia] ally calling procedure |
At 03:45 PM 8/12/2003 -0400, you wrote:
Just checked the call to ally rule and it says all defender calls are made before any aggressor calls. So Whoever wins the die roll makes their calls, whoever loses the die roll makes their calls and then Kyle and I would follow the same procedure as the defenders if either or both of them call allies. So in case 1, both Spain and Prussia make their calls and then Kyle and I roll off to see which of us can ask the other or not first. Kyle and I could probably run ours through the political escrow as long as Kyle doesn't mind. We'd have to give what we'd do if called and if we would call and then the die roll would decide which order things happened in. It's a single person call and we've talked over what we're going to do in either case so it's no biggie to me to just write in both conditions and be stuck with the results.Currently, we are waiting for Jim's die roll to determine who will call allies first (or for his statement that he does not wish to call any allies). After that is resolved, there are two possible cases. CASE 1: Both defenders (Spain and Prussia) wish to call allies. In this case, the one who has rolled highest will call however many allies he chooses. If this player calls more than one ally, then a special escrow will be needed for the called countries' responses. The first country's attacker will also get the option of calling an ally (but since Russia and France have only one ally apiece, no escrow will be necessary). After all that is resolved, the second country will get an opportunity to call its (remaining) allies. This time, though, the responses can be resolved via the "Call to Allies" step of the Political Phase II escrow. And, again, the second country's attacker may also decide to call its ally (if one remains). If this occurs, it can also be handled via the Political Phase II escrow. CASE 2: Only one defender (Spain *or* Prussia, but not both) wishes to call allies. In that case, no special escrow will be necessary. Each called country can reveal its decision to answer the call or not to answer the call in the "Call to Allies" step of the Political Phase II escrow. (Same goes for the attacker's ally, if he is called.) Is everyone agreeable that this is the proper procedure to follow? kdh P.S. Jim, just out of curiosity, what time of day are you most likely to check and send email? If I knew that, then I would know when to check mine and when not to bother.
