Re: [ALACPP] next week's reading?

Here's a BCPL reference (it led to B which led to C and C++) http://cm.bell-labs.com/cm/cs/who/dmr/bcpl.html
Here's some ALGOL stuff http://www.masswerk.at/algol60/report.htm

Here's a site on Simula from Montreal, where they're apparently still gaga over it http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~simula/ <http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/%7Esimula/>
And of course, if you just want the broad overview, I highly recommend
Eric Levenez's language history page http://www.levenez.com/lang/

Hey,

We didn't have a proper meeting this week. I think we should stick with
chapter 1. Unless everyone already read it, and the last meeting didn't
come together for some other reason. Better that we take an extra week
than have some people fall behind this early on.
Well, chapter 1 is only 6 pages long, so I wouldn't mind reading a bit
more. Honestly, I don't see how we're going to get much discussion
out of it unless someone is actually familiar with Simula, Algol, or
BCPL and wants to educate the rest of us (which I wouldn't mind at
all, but I think is probably unlikely).
