Proposal 1946/0: Walls
A Standard Proposal by PlayerPersonman

Add the following p-spec to the book of piece:
{
_Walls_
A wall is a type of piece denoted by + or +++
+
A wall differs from a normal piece in the following ways:
*Walls are not owned by players.
*Walls are played along the border of two spaces, rather than inside one.
If a piece attempts to move to an adjacent square AND there is a wall along the border of those two spaces, the piece instead stays in the square it was in before it attempted the move.
The following are legal moves:
*Creating a wall along the border of any two squares IF placing a wall there would not result in a closed loop consisting of walls and/or the edges of the board other than the closed rectangle already formed by the edges of the board.
EXAMPLE 1: Horizontal and Veritcal Walls
A B C D E F G H I J K
1 | | | | | | | | | | | |
+---+---+---+---+++++---+---+---+---+---+---+
| | | | | | + | | | | |
2 | | | | | | + | | | | |
+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+---+
In this example, there are walls between E1 and E2 and between F2 and G2.
EXAMPLE 2: Illegal placement
A B C D E F G H I J K
1 | | | | | | | | | | | |
+---+---+---+---+++++++++---+---+---+---+---+
| | | | + | + | | | + |
2 | | | | + | + | | | + |
+---+---+---+---+++++---+---+---+---+---+++++
In this example, creating a wall along the edge of F2 and F3 or the edge of K1 and K2 would be illegal.
