[Spoon-business] Prop: Tweaks

Thith ith a propothal to fix two bugth in Mathh and Mothment, ath well ath a whole bunch of little tweakth in our venerable rulethet.

I propthothe the following:
{{__Tweaking new physics and old rules__
In Rule 1503/0, __Mass__, replace
"where X is the difference in 10 times eir Strength and the combined Mass of the objects"
with
"where X is the difference in eir Strength and the combined Mass of the objects divided by 10."

[[Each additional 10 Mass over your limit is supposed to slow you down by 1. Currently it is actually every 1 additional Mass.]]

In rule 126, change the word "move" to "action".

In rule 301:
{-{

Add to the second paragraph of Section A.2, "Whenever an object's Speed is changed, its Movement is changed by the same amount. Note that an object's Movement may be negative."

[[I wanted to put this in the original Movement prop, but for some reason thought it would have to be real complicated, so put it off. It doesn't have to be complicated, though, so everything's good. I think.]]

At the end of the 3rd paragraph of Section A.2, add "If an object may not move, then it may not take any action that costs Movement."

[[A failsafe if someone uses that wording somewhere.]]

Change section A.3.2 to:
{{
If a Big Rock is destroyed, the grid square it was on becomes of substance Gravel. If a square of substance Gravel is made wet, millions of years of erosion pass in a heartbeat and it becomes of substance Turf. [[Funny how that happens...]] A who Walks into a location of substance Gravel may, if it is legal to do so, immidiately Walk again in the same direction, execept that this Walk does not cost any Movement. If a object with a Race both enters and leaves any location during a single nweek, and that location was of substance Gravel at any time between that entering and leaving, a 1d2 is rolled. On a 1, that object Slips, and recieves several nasty cuts, and gains the attribute "Cut Up" until the end of the next nweek. Cut Up objects have -4 Speed.

[[Running is no longer a part of the game. "Running" on Gravel adjusted accordingly.]]

Change Section B.1 to:
{{
Players are in Limbo by default. Any object in Limbo may Enter the Grid, choosing a location it is legal for em to enter when e does so. The object enters that location. Any object in a square is considered to be ont the Grid. A player cannot enter the Grid if there are fewer than two empty squares.

Players are Passable MO's. It is illegal for a non-Helpless player to enter a square that another non-Helpless player is in.
}}

[[Made entering the grid a standardized action, and cleared up some redundancy and old wording. Also, the Helpless bit is for the reworking of the Toad system.]]

Change Section E.2.2 to:
{{
All locations within 1 space of a Siren, are in the Siren's Zone of Enchantment (ZOE). All locations within 2 spaces of a Siren, are in the Siren's Zone of Almost-Total Rapture (ZATR).

If it is not Tango Season, objects with a Race that are not Deaf may not Walk, Warp, or Leap out of a ZOE or ZATR; may not directly cause any object carrying or containing em to Walk, Warp, or Leap out of ZOE or ZATR; or Force Lift emselves out of ZOE or ZATR.

If it is Tango Seacon, any object with a Race that is not Deaf and is in a ZOE or ZATR may Tango in the direction of any adjacent location, if it is legal for that object to enter both that location and the next location in that direction after the first one (and there is a next location). Tangoing costs 3 Movement, and moves the object first to the first adjacent location, then to the next one in the same direction.

[[To put it simply, if you're in the ring of 9 squares around the Siren, you can't leave that ring. If you're in the ring of 16 squares around that, you can only move in that ring or move to the inner ring.]]
}}

[[Clarifying the Sirens rules, makes them more explicit, and pulls a couple things from other areas of the ruleset for better organization. Also broadening their effect so that they also work on Yetis and Gremlins.]]

Change Section E.2.2 to:
{{
If an object with a Race has been in a particular Siren's ZATR or ZOE for 20 consectutive ndays, and is in that Siren's ZOE, that object may Make Love to the Siren. When an object Makes Love to the Siren. When an object Makes Love to a Siren, that Siren is removed from the Grid, and a 1d3 is removed. If the result is a 3, that player is Polymorphed into a Toad for 4 nweeks.
}}

[[Clarifies the conditions to Make Love, and functions with the "Polymorph into a new race" concept introduced towards the end of this prop.]]

Change the last sentence of the first paragraph of Section E.3 to "At the start of the 1st nday of each week, if the Yeti is not on the Grid, he Enters the Grid at a random legal square."

[[Having the Yeti use the standardized Enter the Grid action.]]

Change Section E.4.6 to:
{{7
If a player is within one space of an Ancient Monolith, and eir entropy is greater than (max entropy)/(2*(number of players)), it is illegal for em to enter any location that is not within one space of that Monolith. If a player is within two spaces of a Monolith, and eir entropy is greater than (max entropy)/(number of players), it is illegal for em to enter any location that is not within 2 spaces of that Monolith.
}}

[[The Entropy Attraction subsection was similar to Sirens. This cleared it up, and unlike Sirens, makes it so that others can't pull you away.]]

Change Section F.1 Toads to:
{{
F.1 Helplessness

This subsection supercedes all rules it conflicts with.

Objects may have the Attribute "Helpless". All objects with the Race Toad or Race Penguin are Helpless.

The following is true of any Helpless object:
* E is a Passable, Carryable, Throwable MO.
* Should any carryable object be in eir possession at any time, e immidiately drops it.
* E may not perform any action that costs Movement.
* E may not cause an Airspeeder to perform any action.

[[Players entering the location of a Helpless player, Helpless players not triggering Bonus Boxes, and Toads taking the negative effects of Bonus Boxes are handled elsewhere.]]

If an object ceases to be Carryable while in the possession of another object, or a player cease to be Helpless while in the square of a non-Helpless player, that object leaves the possession of all objects e is possessed by (if any), and is Thrown Elbonia-Style at eir location.

If an Airborne object ceases to be Carryable, it is immidiately Thrown Elbonia-Style at the Target it was headed for, and the events that would normally happen after 2 ndays as a result of that object being thrown do not happen.
}}

[[Toad and Penguin are made into Races that share an attribute, and the general concept of Helplessness is introduced.]]

Remove the sentence "Deaf players are unaffected by Sirens" from Section F.3.

[["Unaffected" isn't well-defined, so I put the effects of this in as a part of the Sirens section.]]
}-}
[[End changes to Rule 301]]

In Rule 405, __Weather__:
Change Section C.2.6., to:
{-{
{{
If a 6 is rolled, the Type is Toads. If the previous Type was not Toads, a random player who is on the Grid Polymorphed into a Toad until the Type is no longer Toads.
}}

Change Section C.2.8., to:
{{
If an 8 is rolled, the Type is Cats and Dogs. While the Type remains Cats and Dogs, it is illegal for any object to perform any action that requires Movement.
}}
}-}

Change the second paragraph of rule 408 to:
{{
If an object that is not Wet, is not an Airspeeder, and is not possessed or contained by another object is in the same location as a Brook, the object gains the attribute Wet.
}}

In Rule 705, __Bonus Boxes__:
{-{
In Section A. change "If at any time a Player occupies" to "If at any time a Player that is not Helpless occupies"; and change "does not contain a player" to "does not contain a player that is Helpless"

Append to the sentence in Section B.3, "; unless that player possesses at least one Toad, in which case a random Toad e possess loses 25 points instead."
}-}

[[Putting the Helpless/Toad stuff here. Note that Penguins do not absorb Scary Things; you wouldn't want to do anything to the cute little things, would you?]]

In Rule 1068, __The Druid Gremlin__, replace "it moves one space" with "it Walks".

In Rule 1071, __Airspeeders__:
{-{
In Section B, replace "takes a move" with "moves".

Replace all but the first paragraph of Section C with:
{{
If an Airspeeder's Integrity is greater than 1/4 its Max Integrity but not greater than 1/2 its Max Integrity, its Speed is reduced by 1/3 of its Base Speed. If an Airspeeder's Integrity not greater than 1/4 its Max Integrity, its Speed is reduced by 2/3 of its Base Speed.
}}

[[I already wrote this up, but when I split the big prop into parts, it got put into the prop that changed Speeders to have HP rather than Integrity.]]
}-}

In Rule 1183, __The Infinite Improbability Drive__:
{-{
Replace the fourth paragraph with "On any roll from 52 to 56, the owner of the Speeder is placed in Limbo, and eir Speeder placed in the same Square as Barney, if Barney is in a Square."

Replace the last three paragraphs with:
{{
On any roll from 75 to 82, Luigi breaks one of the limbs of the owner of the Speeder.

On any roll from 83 to 90, a random player is Polymorphed into a Penguin for 4 nweeks.

On any roll from 91 to 100, the owner of the Speeder does not gain any bonuses for Literary forms in eir proposals until the beginning of the nweek after the next.
}}

[[Various tweaking and such, and making Penguinization fit into the Polymorph system.]]

Add to the second paragraph after the first table in Rule 1271, __Races__:
{{Players may be Polymorphed into a Race for a duration of time. When this happens, eir Race is set to the Race, and e may not change eir Race until e is no longer Polymorphed into any Race. When a Player ceases to be Polymorphed into any Race, eir Race is changed to the Race e last changed eir Race to, if e has ever changed eir Race; otherwise, it is changed to Undefined.}}

[[Introducing the Polymorph system. This currently is only useful for Toads and Penguins, which have the property of being Helpless, but could be expanded. Or not. Currently, Toads and Penguins just have the default stats, but that currently doesn't really matter, as stats currently just define movement and carrying, which Toads and Penguins can't do anyway.]]

In Section A of Rule 1326, __Armies__, replace
{{The entity who purchases an Army may move that Army about the Grid by ordering it to move. No entity may order the movement of an Army they did not purchase.}}
with
{{Armies may Walk, and the entity that most recently purchased an Army may Order it to Move to a legal loction, in which case it does so.}}
]]
[[End proposal]]
