Re: [s-d] [s-b] start of week actions, or, Cornering the Thorn Market. |
According to historical flavor text, new players are given one point because you used to be able to buy stock in players. Each share was purchased at one-tenth of the player's current points rounded up, but if new players have zero points, then their shares cost zero points and you have a great scam. I don't know what happened if a player was reduced to zero points back then, though. ----- Original Message ---- > From: Geoffrey Spear <wooble@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: spoon-discuss@xxxxxxxxx > Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 8:34:52 AM > Subject: Re: [s-d] [s-b] start of week actions, or, Cornering the Thorn Market. > > On Wed, Feb 2, 2011 at 4:26 PM, Gabriel Vistica <gvistica@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > And I just realized that I missed the fact that, while you weren't actually >able > > to pick the nonexistent Tomato from the Town Square Garden, you were able to > > pick the 2 Thorn Seeds, but you didn't Pick Slowly, so you lose 8 points. >Since > > you can't go negative, you effectively lose 1 point. > > I didn't even realize I had 1 point.
