Some Gnomes could be squeezed to give you stuff. Squeezing Gnomes slowly used them up until eventually they were destroyed. 3. Most Gnome types were named for alcoholic beverages you could get by squeezing them. Drinking these beverages had in-game effects, usually some positive ones plus raising your BAC, which could be bad. 4. No attempt whatsoever was made at balancing the various gnomes against each other, as best as I can tell.
