Re: [s-d] The idea of a chess-subgame |
>Wonko writes: >Mostly, I'm thinking it would suck to be a Pawn. I always enjoy hearing Wonko's slant on the game. Of anyone, eir long standing as a participant probably offers em the greatest advantage. Clearly, E has an arkful of Angstroms & Genechips, and eir Soul is worth a ton. Mostly, that comes from eir active participation in the b nomic game, from whence the issuance of most of these accountable assets flow. Proposal bonuses are not insubstantial; I've accumulated a tidy sum of the coin o' the realm in my couple of months here. Changing the Rules is, after all, what this is about. >Antonio writes: >Do you think that reducing the possibility of the main game influencing >the subgame would reduce enjoyability of subgames ? Seems to me that they're inseperable. You can't introduce or alter a subgame without doing so within the main game. Real life events may preclude a Player from being constantly active, and is to be expected. You could attempt to introduce a balance of holdings, as the Prop that modified Rule 9-8 did, creating a negative bonus after 500 GC is achieved. After a spate of initial activity, the HH does seem to be another subgame that's destined for the cutting room floor. Nobody (except Antonio) has done anything in a goodly piece of time. Rooms have been added that are not displayed on the map, someone is upstairs holding the Sconce down (I forget who), and my interest, at least, is waning. I don't know that I've said anything you don't already know. Just thought I'd chime in. And now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Gnocchi Night! Once a month, (the 29th), the Pasta Connection makes gnocchi, and as well as my Grandma did. Mangia.
