Magitech...Wasn't that in Final Fantasy 3? Someone had said originally that it sounded familiar...but at the time I thought they were thinking of N-Tech, thecompany from Max Steel.
They might be thinking of CD manufacturers - I have a bunch of blank CDs here that appear to have been made by "Emtec".
