This is the fifth or sixth nomic game I've looked at where objects called gnomes came up at some point in the game's history... They always seem to be completely different objects - in B, they were little things we squeezed to make alcohol and threw at each other; in my high school nomic we bought armies of them to duke it out on a large hexagonal grid; your nomic used them as currency; in Rishonomic there was only one and it messed with voting; in Ackanomic it gave gifts to certain players; in Nomicron GNOME was an acronym for some sort of generic rule-like game document... But there always seems to be some class of object called a Gnome... This is a corollary of the well known xenobiological fact that all planets have some drink phonetically equivalent to "Gin and Tonic".
