How does one request a Mentor?Mentors are theoretically automatically assigned. I'm not sure that the roster is up-to-date though (especially seeing as Zarpint has recently joined/returned... but then Zarpint may or may not be requiring a mentor, i'm unsure)which begs some questions. As Zarpint the Incomplete joined as Zarpint the Incomplete, is there still a Lost Soul called Athena, or not? Are there 3 lost souls called The Voice? And do Lost Souls who rejoin (under eir formar name) get mentored or not?
The name is irrelevant. There is a unique human being who is, under r13, an External Force. This External Force was a player, then it became a Lost Soul. It is now a player again. However, due to a slight miswording in the rules, it is arguable that this External Force is also a Lost Soul.
I would interpret the wording of r14 to imply that the declaration of the name Zarpint the Incomplete counts as a self renaming under r151, so there is no longer any object named 'Athena'.
Unless Glotmorf's Athena today.
Anyhow, as it happens, your mentor will be assigned at some point, once you are actually a player, which at the moment you aren't;Technical reasoning here: The clock is off. To become a player you have to post in a public forum, and as per r3, nothing happens in a public forum until the clock turns back on, at which point the following happen in order
This is actually not true. r3 only delays the implementation of actions *taken by players*. As Mikie was not a player at the time of the request, it was a legal action for an External Force to take, and it happened immediately.
Now e's in Clock Downtime with the rest of us.
so, at the moment, you aren't a player, because ntime isn't passing. You may think things are happening, and people may talk about them in the past tense, but they haven't actually occured yet.
So in fact Mikie is the only thing that's happening now, and e's preempted everything that's going to happen soon.
you'll get used to this, it happens all the time. The really wierd thing is when you realise that nday 10 is an illusion and that ntime is all out by 1. I treat this a bit like daylight saving time, except without the daylight. or the savings.
Hey, I wanted the zero-based clock. I could never understand why we kept this stupid one-based system.
