I won't deny that possibility.  I wrote it at 3 am, along with the elevation rule and the flats rule.  I had this vision of the grid all acrawly with people running through tunnels, climbing up and down fire escapes...

I think it's time to modify Rule 1 again: "B Nomic: It's better than sex.  And peyote."
