Re: [spoon-discuss] Re: [Spoon-business] Early prop

Grrr.... I'd almost finished writing up a proposal that would do almost exactly this... Grrr....

I would urge you to propose it as well, for perhaps it is better than this one. The two proposals can be opposed [[ooh, have we ever used that one?]]. I was thinking something like a society, so it could be more self-contained. Were you thinking along the same lines?

{{
__Your Mission, Should You Choose To Accept It__

Create a new rule with the following IMF delimited text:

IMF
__The Quest for the Immutable Rule__ {*Immutable, 13*}

There exist rules of type Immutable. Immutable rules must be named "X's Immutable Rule," where "X" is the name of the player who created the rule. No player may have more than one Immutable rule, unless there is a direct connection between all of eir Immutable Rules. [[I don't know what you'll come up with, so I'm leaving this open.]] Players may create or edit eir Immutable Rules by sending a message to that effect to a public forum, without having to make a proposal for the nweek's ballot. [[So they can't be voted down.]] Immutable Rules shall be numbered starting from 2000. [[Keeps 'em seperate from the rest of the ruleset.]] Immutable Rules may not have a Chutzpah greater than 1, and may under no circumstances take precedence over this rule.

Hmmm... My immutable rule:
{{
__Wonko's immutable rule__

Players may not change the gamestate. This rule supercedes all other rules. Upon its passing, this rule's Chutzpah changes to 15.
}}

Yes, your rule says this rule can't supercede it, or have a high chutzpah. But my rule says otherwise. And explicitly supercedes yours. Nyah.

Players have 1 nyear from the creation of this rule, hereafter reffered to as the R&D Phase, to create and perfect eir Immutable Rules. At the end of that time, players may not alter or repeal Immutable Rules except as defined in this rule. At the end of said nyear, players have 5 nweeks, hereafter referred to as the Testing Period, to create proposals to alter or repeal the existing Immutable Rules. No proposal to alter or repeal an Immutable Rule can create a rule.

R&D?

Research and Development, methinks.

If all of a player's Immutable Rules survive the Testing Period in the form they had at the end of the R&D Phase, that player recieves the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize consists of 250 points$$$, the title "Immutable One," 1 point of Respect, and the Immunity Idol. Should more than one player's Immutable Rules survive the Testing Phase, the player who made eir final amendments to eir Immutable Rules earliest will recieve the Grand Prize, and all other players who would otherwise have qualified for the Grand Prize shall recieve 100 points$$$$ and the title "Immutable One."

At the end of the Testing Phase, repeal all Immutable Rules, then this rule.
IMF

This paragraph does not apply to itself. If proposal 862 passed, replace "$$$" with ", BNS250" and "$$$$" with ", BNS100." If proposal 862 failed, remove all occurences of "$$$" and "$$$$" from this proposal.
