Re: [s-b] New rule type - imperative rules, and giving us more time to react to rules.


I add the following delimited rules to the ruleset:

Players may own points. Points are both a scoring and an exchange system.
Points may be exchanged or bartered for other items. When points are
exchanged, the required number of points are taken from the player wishing
to exchange them and are given to the player, or game entity, in return for
the requested service or item which is then given to em. Players may only

The ruleset now exists as below. It has been seven days since Arkadys' rules

It's reasonable to interpret that unregulated actions are possible.

1. Players have the right to create, discuss and agree on rules and rules

judgment of the player being punished, worse than Exile.

5. Mars Needs Creampuffs
Players shall yell DREAMPUFF at least once a month.

6. Bake Me a Loophole
The player generally known as Wooble is required to follow the rules, except
for the one titled "Mars Needs Creampuffs".

7. Because Typing Takes Forever

10. Talk is Cheap
All game actions require a message to the spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx mailing
list.

12. The Redactor is a game-defined object.  The Redactor can alter the text
of rules.  Players cannot alter the text of rules.
Whenever a player submits an order to the Redactor as a Game Action and two
other players express support for that order as Game Actions, the Redactor
carries out that order.

18. Put the Past Behind Us
This rule takes priority over all other rules except where rules specify
otherwise.
Game actions take effect in the order in which they are sent to the game,
Which rule takes priority or defers to other rules is known as "precedence."
Precedence is determined as follows: 1. Rules which explicitly state
precedence to a specified rule, or rules take priority over, or defer
to those rules appropriately; 2. If that doesn't work, rules which
explicitly state precedence to another type of rule or rules matching
a certain condition take priority over or defer to all rules of the
specified type; 3. If that doesn't work, rules with the lowest
identifying number have priority over those that
follow.If a rule has a change number then the oldest existing version
of that rule

19. Comment Text
Any [[ ]]-delimited text is comment text. Comment text has no direct effect
on the game although it can be read and may aid in the interpretation of the
rule it refers to.

20. Goal
The purpose of the game may be submitted as a game action and needs the
support of 1/2 the known players to become valid. There can only be one goal
at any one time and add the player(s) who achieve this goal each get 1
kudos.

The current goal of the game is:
Player(s) to achieve 100 points with the following restrictions:
Players may not award themselves, or other players, random points.
The game may not award more than 5 points per action.
Players may not receive more than 5 points per action at any one time.
Players lose 5 points plus any points they may have been awarded by spamming
the game.
Players may not have negative points, negative points reset to 0.
Players may not have more than 100 points, 100 points are deducted from the
"winning" player when kudos is awarded.

21. Rule changes should be numbered sequentially, starting with 1 and adding
+1 to each consecutive change, after a period following the identifying rule

30. Do Your Civic Duty
This rule is ineffective if any rule provides for some particular player, or
entity controlled by a player, to publicly announce the current ruleset at
least once per month. Any time a player causes any rule to be added,
removed, or altered in a message, the player must post the updated ruleset
with the appropriate changes, including any changes which the ruleset tracks
which have occurred since the last posting of the ruleset.

34. Preventing Conflict
If two or more rules defer to each other, then the rule with the highest
value shall take take priority over the one with the lower value. If any

35. No Dramatic Changes Please!
Players may not vote (or rate) rules that have been created prior to the
week of declaring their intention to join the game, except by public
invitation of at least half the known players.

36. 3 is the Key
Players may not submit more than a total of 3 rules, or rule changes, in a
consecutive manner. Other game actions must also follow this rule except
where they are governed by another similar rule.

A rule with non-positive value has no effect.

Any player who attempts to put themselves, or another player, outside of
following the rules, or who creates a dictatorship (ie. to create rules, or
play the game, in an unchecked manner) will have those rules removed from
the game instantly. This rule takes precedence over all other rules except
those that define general precedence (#18).

43. Imperative rules:
Whenever the rules are updated, all actions described by any active
imperative rules
are taken by that player. An imperative rule is phrased as a command.
