I think I'm gonna vote against replacing the ruleset with "DARWIN ->
\_" even if it gives me credit.

But I'm gonna propose something different - using the emergency to
tweak the game, and hopefully deslump ourselves by luck. I submit the
following RP, entitled "Refactor the Map":

Amend Rule 84 to read as follows:

Locations are Attributes defined as Locations by the rules. No player
may have more than one Location at any given time. A player is said to
be "in" their Location. [[eg a player whose Location is the Piazza is
in the Piazza.]]

When a player joins the game who has not been a player at any time
within the past two nweeks, that Player's Location is set to the
Foyer.

When a player joins the game who has been a player at some time within
the past two nweeks, that Player's Location is set to whatever
Location e occupied at eir most recent time of deregistration.

All Locations are grouped into Regions. Each Region must have exactly
one location within it that is its Entrance. From the entrance of a
Region, players may move to the entrance of any other Region.

Passages and Peepholes are ordered pairs of Locations defined as such
by the rules. Neither of these is necessarily symmetric.

A player who is otherwise allowed to change their Location can change
their Location to a specific value if and only if their old and new
Locations (in that order) are a Passage. Other attempts to change
Location are INEFFECTIVE.

A player cannot Commit Attempted Murder if eir Location and any other
non-Victim player's Location (in that order) are a Peephole.

All Regions have a Passage and a Peephole from their Entrances to the
Entrances of all other Regions. No other Passages and Peepholes exist
except within regions, as specified by the rules.

Hall now goes to the Foyer rather than the Downstairs Hall, and the

Create a Rule entitled "The Village" reading as follows:

The Village is a Region whose entrance is the Village Green.

The following Locations exist within the Village:

A player may, with the Consent of B, create a Location within the
Village. [[Let's all build houses and shops and such!]] To do so, E
must specify at least one extant Location within the Village which has
a Passage to the new Location, at least one extant Location within the
Village which the new Location has a Passage to, and at least one
extant Location within the Village which has a Peephole to the new
Location. This rule shall then amend itself by appending the new
location to the end of the list of locations within the Village, and
adding the new Passages and Peepholes to the end of the Village
Passage and Peephole lists.

This rule takes precedence over any rules which would prohibit it from
amending itself. This rule shall not be interpreted as implying that
it is possible to make changes to its content other than the addition
of new locations by any mechanism other than proposals or emergencies.

I have no intention of agreeing to the destruction of upstairs until
we build up the village a bit, but I want to make the map more our own
and I see no better approach than making it easy. If this doesn't pass
as an RP, I plan to resubmit it as a normal proposal (unless we find
ourselves in a time warp.)
