In Rule 10-1, to the list of items defining a room, add the sentence:

A state which can be either "lit" or "dark".

For each room in the house except the Secret Tunnels and the Closet set the state to "lit".
Set the state of the Secret Tunnels and the Closet to "dark".

In Rule 10-8, amend the second sentence to:

A player can see a room if and only if that room is lit and it is either the room e is in, or an exit of the room e is in
}}

Create a new rule in section 10 named "It is dark here, you are likely to be eaten by a grue" which reads:

At midnight UTC of ndays 3, 7 and 10, if a player is in a dark room eir Calm is reduced by 1.

define a new talisman with the following properties:

Appearance: A plain wooden stick with some cloth stuck on the far end.
activated effect: the Plain Torch is destroyed, create a Lit Torch in your possession.

Appearance: A plain wooden stick with some burning cloth stuck on the far end.
static effect: While a room contains a Lit Torch it is lit. The Lit Torch is destroyed at the end of the Nday.

define a new talisman with the following properties:

Name: Kirchhoff's Radiation Dampener
Price: 50 GC
Rarity: Uncommon
Type: Mechanical
Appearance: A flashlight with shiny copper coils protruding from the handle.
activated effect: The Radiation Dampener is destroyed. The room in which the Radiator Dampener was activated is dark until the end of the Nday at which time it reverts to whatever state it was before.
