[s-b] [auto] Wonko submits p23

Wonko has submitted a new proposal, p23.

Proposal 23/0: Speak Softly and Carry a Magic Stick
A Standard Proposal by Wonko
Last modified on nweek 86, nday 7

If p11 passes, create the following three rules in the "All Things Mystical" section of the ruleset:
{{
== Talismans ==

Certain objects may be designated Inventory Objects, which may also be referred to as Talismans. Each Talisman has a body of text associated with it called its Effects; this describes what happens when a player uses the Talisman, and may also include general effects of having the Talisman and other such things. The Effects field of a Talisman may only be changed as explictly permitted by the rules. It is acceptable to have a subsection of an existing rule be the Effects field of a given Talisman.

The Effects of a Talisman may include static effects, triggered effects, and/or activated effects.
[[
Examples:
static effect: "as long as you hold this, X applies to you"
triggered effect: "When X happens, Y happens"
activated effect: "You may do X to have Y happen"
]]

Each Talisman also has a Game Document associated with it called its Appearance; this may be an empty text (and is if no Appearance has been specified for that Talisman), but in general it should be a description of what the Talisman looks like, either in plain text or via a link to an existing image outside of the game (such as the url of a gif or some such thing).

No Talisman may ever be created that has the same name as an existing Talisman but a different Effects field (however, this does not limit the number of identical copies of a given Talisman that may exist).

---------

== General Effect Syntax ==

The following conventions apply to the Effects of Talismans, except when the rules or the Effects field of a Talisman specifically state otherwise:
 * The use of the 2nd person (i.e., 'You', 'Yourself', 'Your', etc.) is assumed to refer to the entity who holds the Talisman in question, except when describing activated effects, in which case it refers to the player who activated the effect (which will usually be the holder of the Talisman, but maybe not always)
 * A string of the form "[price],[actions]:[effects]" is interpreted to mean that players may perform the actions in [actions] and pay objects they hold equal to [price] to cause [effects] to happen (obvious variants on this are also acceptable, for example putting the actions before the price). Unless otherwise specified, only the entity holding a Talisman may do this. "Pay" in this context means "destroy" unless there is an obvious other meaning for the objects in question (BNS, for example, would have been put back in the Bank instead of being destroyed; cards would go to the Deck rather than be obliterated, etc.).
 * If the word "sacrifice" is one of the actions in such a description, it means "destroy this object".

[[
Examples:
"5 Amplitude: Cast an extra vote on any Open proposal." means "The holder of this object may pay 5A at any time to cast an extra vote on any open proposal".
"1 Tomato Drink, pay 50~ to any player, sacrifice: The player to whom you paid 50~ loses 100 points." means "The holder of this object may pay 1 Tomato Drink, give 50~ to another player, and destroy this object to make that player lose 100 points."
]]

---------

== Soul Binding ==

Each Talisman has a Price, which is a list of objects. Any player who has all the objects in a given Talisman's price may create a copy of that Talisman (subject to any restrictions in the Talisman's Effects). Doing so destroys all objects required for the price, except for Souls. Souls used to create a Talisman become Bound to that Talisman (they cease to be Lost or Found, and cease to be in anyone's possession). When a Talisman is destroyed, all Souls Bound to it become Lost.

}}

Then create the following Talismans:
{{
__ Amplitude Amplifier __

Price: 10A, 1 Soul

Appearance: An enormous white Conch shell. A microphone protrudes from the smaller end.

Effects: When you gain or lose Amplitude because of objects other than Talismans, the amount that you gain/lose is doubled. This does not apply to Amplitude voluntarily paid to other sources (say, to create a Talisman). Any player may pay 10A to destroy any Amplitude Amplifier.
}}

{{
__ Wad of Ersure __

Price: 4A, 2 Souls

Appearance: A long, thin wooden rod with a bright pink rubber eraser at one end.

Effects:
Sacrifice: Choose up to two Tiles in a Zone. Those Tiles are put in the Bag. [[Yes, this does mean that you can turn Nomic Words into gibberish.]]
}}

{{
__ Ward of Replatement __

Price: 8A, 2 Souls

Appearance: A long stone rod that is bifurcated at one end. The two branches each have tiny metal clamps for holding Tiles. A button on the handle causes the two branches to rotate around, swapping their places.

Effects:
Sacrifice: Choose one or two Tiles in any single Zone, and the same number of Tiles from your Rack. Swap the ones in the Zone with the ones in your Hand. You gain control of that Zone. You may only do this if it results in the Zone having a Nomic Word in it.
}}

{{
__ Dawn of the Mangara __

Price: 12A, 2 Souls

Appearance: A thick steel rod with many seams and hinges, so that sections of it may be slid around and interchanged. The sections are all colored differently.

Effects:
Sacrifice: Choose a Zone with at least three Tiles in it, and rearrange those Tiles into a Nomic Word. The Word must different from the arrangement they were already in (swapping identical letters doesn't count). You gain control of the targeted Zone.
}}
