[Spoon-business] New Society: Insert Name Here |
Contingent upon Wonko rescinding eir appeal of the ruling on CFI 1098, or upon the appeal being ruled to be moot, I create the following society: {{ __Insert Name Here__ The name of this society is Insert Name Here, or INH. One Member of INH is said to be the Leader of Insert Name Here. All Members of INH other than the Leader are said to be acolytes. The Initial Member of INH is Wonko. If at any time there is no Leader of INH, or the Leader leaves INH, then a new Leader shall be chosen from the acolytes according to the Ordinances. If the Ordinances do not specify a method for choosing a Leader, then the acolyte who has been an acolyte for the longest becomes the Leader. Any player may join INH by declaring that they do so in a Public Forum. Any acolyte may leave INH at any time by declaring that they do so in a public forum. INH has a collection of private rules called the Ordinances. The Leader is responsible for maintaining a list of all Ordinances in their current forms for public review, and for carrying out all duties required by the Ordinances that are not the responsibility of other entities within INH. Acolytes are not required to obey the Ordinances, but if an acolyte disobeys an ordinance which is intelligible and which e could have obeyed, e is immediately considered to be evicted from the society, pending formal eviction or pardoning by the Leader. If there is only one member of INH, e may not be evicted, and need not adhere to the Ordinances. [[So although it would be possible to end up with an Ordinance that said, 'All acolytes must give all eir points to Wonko', then everyone would be able to quit rather than give em their points.]] If there are at least three acolytes, and a majority of them vote to evict the Leader, then the Leader is evicted from INH. [[E may then rejoin, but e ceases to be the Leader and cannot be the oldest Acolyte.]] Twice per nweek, each member of INH may make an Ordinance Change by stating eir Ordinance Change in an email to all acolytes, or to a Public Forum. An Ordinance Change is any action which is defined to be an Ordinance Change by the Ordinances. This Charter may be changed at any time by either the Leader and a majority of all acolytes (if there are any), or a 4/5 majority of all acolytes (if there are any) or the Leader emself (if there are no acolytes). Additionally, the Leader may at any time make any change to the Ordinances e wants, and may mandate a change to this Charter at any time, except that the only change e may mandate to this Charter is to repeal the final sentence of it. [[ This is distinctly different from changing the charter, as specified in the prior paragraph, which would allow the Leader to change the charter if there are no acolytes at all. ]] }} The above society is my gesture of reconciliation, brotherhood, and blatant curiosity -- I'm dying to see what Wonko will do with it. I would like to point out that the creation of this society would not be possible if Orc's society "fix" proposal was implemented.
