[Spoon-business] Revision of 860/0 |
Sory dave, but I've noticed a couple of problems. Changes are: new players get 5 chits, Initial handout of chits modified to make it work properly (otherwise players would get chits for proposals after this one even though they didn't use chits to make them). I revise 860/0 to: Create a rule: {{ __Proposal Chits__ Proposal Chits are insubstantial objects (they neither appear on the Grid nor in Limbo, but may be possessed by players). Players may possess between 0 and 10 (inclusive) Proposal Chits. It is not possible to have a non-integer number of Proposal Chits. Any player may announce during the voting period that they wish to buy an additional Proposal Chit. At the beginning of each nweek any Player with less than 5 Proposal Chits gains one, and any player who announced that they were buying another loses a number of points equal to the twelfth Gremlin number. During the nweek, and Player who had less than 4 Proposal Chits at the beginning of the nweek may buy as many proposal Chits as they wish, at a cost in points of the sixth Gremlin number, however the total number of Proposal Chits a Player buys in an nweek plus the number of Proposal Chits that they had at the beginning of that nweek cannot exceed 4. For each proposal active that a player has that had been SHELVED on the previous Ballot one Proposal Chit purchased as in the above paragraph may be purchased at half cost. Societies may also own Proposal Chits, however they may never purchase them. Players may not voluntarially transfer Proposal Chits to Societies, and Societies may not transfer Proposal Chits to Players. [[** Note this section ]] At the end of the nweek in which this proposal passed, give to each Player the smallest non-negative number of Proposal Chits that will mean that they have at least 4. Then delete the text in this rule from the first instance of two `[' characters followed by ** until the first instance of ** followed by two `]' characters. [[Don't want to accidently make a bit of that paragraph a comment! **]] }} Change Rule 212 to read: {{ Making a proposal costs one Proposal Chit. If the Entity making the proposal cannot meet this cost then the proposal cannot be made. }} In Rule 256, Section B.3 replace the text: {{ The player who holds the Token of Proposals may make one more proposal than is allowed under the current ruleset. Immediately after eir extra proposal is recognized by the Administrator, the Token of Proposals is automatically returned to the Bandwidth Gremlin. }} with the text: {{ The player who holds the Token of Proposals may at any point return it to the Bandwidth Gremlin in exchange for a Proposal Chit, which must be used immediatly [[in the same mailing list message]]. }} And in Section B.10 replace the text: {{ When a player is Burnt, e may make one fewer proposal then e would normally be able to. }} with the text: {{ A player that is Burnt cannot have their last Proposal Chit removed from them by any means. }} and remove the text: {{ This rule takes precedence over rule 212. [[Bandwidth Rationing]] }} >From the end of the rule. In Rule 578, Section F replace the text: {{ Proposals that a Society submits count as (1/(number of Members in the Society)) proposals against each Member's bandwidth limit. }} with: {{ If a Society with no Proposal Chits makes a Proposal then one Proposal Chit is transfered from each Player Member of the Society to the Society. If at the end of an nweek a Society has more Proposal Chits than it has Player Members then one Proposal Chit is transfered to each Player Member of the Society to the Society. }} and the text: {{ c) Each Player in the Society must have (1/(number of Players in the Society)) free in eir bandwidth limit for each Society proposal made. If a Player leaves a Society, and the Society made Society Proposals earlier that same nweek while the Player was a Member, those Society Proposals still count against the Player's Bandwidth, and the ballot results of those Society Proposals will still affect the Player's Score, Charm and Entropy. The Player will not, however, auto-vote Yes for the Society Proposals. }} with: {{ c) The Society must either have a Proposal Chit, or ever Player member of the Society must have a Proposal Chit. If a Player leaves a Society, and the Society made Society Proposals earlier that same nweek while the Player was a Member the ballot results of those Society Proposals will still affect the Player's Score, Charm and Entropy. The Player will not, however, auto-vote Yes for the Society Proposals. }} In Rule 580 remove the text: {{ , but only counts as half a proposal against the bandwidth limit }} In Rule 124 replace the text: {{ When a player's proposal passes, e recieves 3d6 points. When a player's proposal fails, e loses 1d6 points, unless e does not have that many points, in which case eir score simply becomes 0. }} with: {{ When a player or society's proposal passes, ey recieve 3d6 points and a Proposal Chit. [[Note that in the case of a society the points are redistributed]] }} If the text {{A new player is given the following items on joining the game:}} does not appear in rule 26 (New Players) then add it. After the text: {{A new player is given the following items on joining the game:}} in rule 26 (New Players) add the following item: {{5 Proposal Chits}}. _______________________________________________ spoon-business mailing list spoon-business@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/spoon-business
