spoon-business: CFI: The Holy Order of Points |
CFI Statement: Baron von Skippy, bd, Naath, The Reality Police and The Voice did not become members of the Holy Order of Points as a result of voting for Proposal 676. Events resulting from their becoming members do not occur. The Holy Order of Points still exists, with Wonko as its sole member. Analysis: Rule 155 states: "No player or other game entity may submit a proposal that calls for one or more effects that discriminate in any way between players based on their voting actions on that proposal, or any other specific proposal or proposals identified in the proposal." The abovenamed players were declared members of the Holy Order of Points based on their votes for Proposal 676. As this is an effect that discriminates between players based on their voting actions on that proposal, their becoming members did not occur. Wonko's membership, however, was dictated in the proposal, and was not a direct result of eir voting in favor of the proposal. Therefore, the Holy Order came into existence, and Wonko became a member. However, the "critical mass" necessary to generate the society's dissolution and the point awards was not reached, since no other players were added to the society. Therefore, the society still exists, with one member.
