[hosers-talk] DNS caching |
For the last week or so, my DNS has been very flaky, getting a lot of timeouts. I blame SBC. Rather than try to troubleshoot it with them -- anyone ever call SBC?? -- I thought, gee, it would be great if there were a simple caching DNS proxy I could run on my server, something akin to Squid, so I could have a relatively up-to-date DNS proxy on my end. I don't seem to have any connection issues otherwise, since I often have persistent connections open and they stay open just fine. So, is there something like this that would be simple to set up? I don't think I need the full on horror story that is BIND.
