No, that would be silly -- the idea is that I can build a PC system 
within the case and keep upgrading components as necessary over years and 
years. Although there are still a number of SGI 
systems on ebay that still have a fair amount of RAM in them, by today's 
standards. They must have been monsters back in the day.

I actually found a guy selling just an Octane case, sans all components. I 
think I will buy it, if I can figure out how to set up a PayPal account.

The nice thing about the Octane case is that it's relatively square, so it 
fits well into the closet, and it should have more than enough room for a 
mobo, lots of disks, and a water cooling kit (it has exhaust slots at the 
top of the case, which look to be perfect).
