Right now, I've installed fink's. It looks like building it from source actually worked, but I haven't played with it a whole lot. Erin has discovered the iTunes Music Store. <sigh> I'm liking Slackware quite a bit. Since I don't have rpms or debs, I'm going slow and actually learning necessary dependencies. Also, I'm not as tempted to download and install a crapload of software I don't need. Security patches are promptly available and packages are reasonably up-to-date (without being on the bleeding edge). The config files and scripts are in the obvious spots and very well commented. Combined with my firewall, I feel like I'm running a reasonably secure system. Performance has been good, as well as can be expected on my crappy hardware. This weekend I'm going to see if I can get my development environment set up how I like it.
