The other person we knew was Kyle's Dad, who's never played before and
probably won't want to go through the learning process without Kyle.

In my experience, Kyle doesn't change his mind about this sort of thing.  I
tried to smooth things over, both on and off the list, and the response was
a long set of arguments about why he was right to leave.  I can't talk to
him any more about it without becoming angry and starting an argument, which
I don't want to do since I see him all the time.

If any of you want to make a personal appeal to Kyle to return to the game,
feel free and I hope you succeed.  Certainly the game won't be the same
without him.  Maybe the tack to try is the fact that we apparently don't
have a seven-player game without him.
