Re: [eia] another question

In the trivial combat rules (7.5.3.4), it says, "Depot garrisons cannot
retreat and losing survivors that break must surrender if not eliminated by
a pursuit."

Granted, this is in the trivial combat section, but no mention is made of an
exception to this rule if a city is available for the depot garrison to fall
back into. So I believe the rule that depot garrisons cannot retreat is
meant to be a general one.

> Suppose a depot garrison participates in a field combat along with
corps of different nationality. If that side loses, what happens to the
depot garrison? If there is a city in the same area, can the remains of the
depot garrison retire into the city after participating in a losing combat?
Or are the remains of the depot garrison retreated along with the losing
corps? If the latter, what happens if the depot garrison is retreated to a
space without a city or a depot?
