Re: [eia] Third Battle of Damietta, February 1807 |
Hmm... I'm not so sure about this, Joel. Wouldn't the Spaniards know whether they had killed cavalry units or infantry units during the battle? In the past we have always reported casualties. I'm not sure if there is a rule that says you have to, but I think it makes sense that people would know whether they killed (regular) infantry or (irregular) militia or guard or cavalry or artillery. These types of distinctions should be pretty obvious, even on a raging battlefield. Without doing an extensive search of the rules to back up my position, I would refer everyone to page 38 of the rulebook where an example combat is written up. In that example, the historian records the types of losses taken during the battle. I really think it makes sense to announce what losses were taken at the end of a battle. I'd be curious to hear what other people think. kdh ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joel Uckelman" <uckelman@xxxxxxxxx> To: "public list for an Empires in Arms game" <eia@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, August 05, 2003 10:44 AM Subject: Re: [eia] Third Battle of Damietta, February 1807 > Well, technically I don't have to say, beyond that I took 1 cavalry and > that no corps disappeared in the process, though that would make the most > sense. > > -- > J. > > > _______________________________________________ > eia mailing list > eia@xxxxxxxxx > http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/eia > _______________________________________________ eia mailing list eia@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/eia
