Ok, even though only one side of the battle has been recorded, there's a reasonable amount I can tell you about it just from public knowledge. According to recent history, I estimate the British forces at 1 inf./4 cav. and the Portuguese forces at 6 inf./1 cav. That would make a morale of 2.9. Soult gives the French a tactical rating of 3, and without a leader, the British have a modified 0. This gives the French +1 to each roll, and -1 to the British. (Since the French have 3 cavalry present at the battle, there is no cavalry superiority.) In the first round, the French inflict 1 casualty and -0.8 morale. In the second round, the French (almost certainly) inflict 1 casualty and -1.1 morale. In the third round, the French (almost certainly) inflict 1 casualty and -1.8 morale. (If the combat makes it this far, then the British side will break and must lose a cavalry factor.) If the French do not break, then France will win the battle and GB will lose (+2 pp to France/-2 to GB). The pursuit roll was '5'. That will inflict one additional cavalry casualty *only* if France loses less than 2.0 morale over the course of the combat. If the British need to be retreated, then they must go toward London/Christiana, which means up the peninsula. That gives me a choice of to Rome or to the mountainous area NW of Naples. I will retreat them to the mountains. kdh ---------- Original Message ---------------------------------- From: dice-admin@xxxxxxx (Dice server) Date: 16 Dec 2002 03:15:53 -0000 >-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > > >Dice rolls requested by: "Kyle Haidet" <menexenus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >Rolls also sent to: > eia@xxxxxxxxx > ># 3 rds of combat + pursuit (if nec.) > >No. of sides on every die: 6 >No. of dice for every roll: 1 >No. of dice rolls requested: 4 >No. of rolls per line: 1 > > 6 > 4 > 3 > 5 > >Information on the dice server: > DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE! > Replies to dice-admin@xxxxxxx vanish into a seldom-read mailbox. > > For instructions on using the dice server, send a message with > subject "help" to dice@xxxxxxx, or see http://www.pbm.com/dice/ > > The dice server is provided by: > > Shadow Island Games > http://www.pbm.com/ > > >Original message follows: >> Return-Path: <menexenus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Delivered-To: dice@xxxxxxx >> Received: (qmail 14074 invoked from network); 16 Dec 2002 03:15:34 -0000 >> Received: from smtp2.crystaltech.com (216.119.106.211) >> by nixon.xkey.com with SMTP; 16 Dec 2002 03:15:34 -0000 >> Received: (qmail 1777 invoked from network); 16 Dec 2002 03:11:13 -0000 >> Received: from web163.crystaltech.com (HELO centerdigit.com) (216.119.106.164) >> by smtp2.crystaltech.com with SMTP; 16 Dec 2002 03:11:13 -0000 >> Date: Sun, 15 Dec 2002 20:15:28 -0700 >> Message-Id: <200212152015.AA971243762@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Mime-Version: 1.0 >> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii >> From: "Kyle Haidet" <menexenus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Reply-To: <menexenus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> >> To: <dice@xxxxxxx> >> Subject: none >> X-Mailer: <IMail v7.13> >> >> #P eia@xxxxxxxxx >> #S 6 >> #D 1 >> #R 4 >> #L 1 >> #C 3 rds of combat + pursuit (if nec.) >> #T France's rolls, battle of Naples >> >> >> > >-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- >Version: 2.6.3ia >Charset: noconv > >iQCVAwUBPf1FaT8NitsTFjcVAQHiLAP/ZosvOr6W46n00zUFUIc7+5X3feGM1sjL >gLJDsSGwPjXoOxGEHQ+du7QdqD5Da6FLE6iZdMT1P9sbh2n5E3SXD43qqVROFunF >PmZR4Ca59oCFf68wYBObc3YFwt2ShYG78R/H1nz7Ejsc4qS3SQu913GKCiwHueTZ >GMaqemcPzsI= >=zi3p >-----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > _______________________________________________ eia mailing list eia@xxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/eia
