[ALACPP] mail server issues |
I think this mainly effects Yahoo! folks, but the charybdis sysadmin recently switched from qmail to Postfix and has enabled RFC-strictness to cut down on spam (good). Unfortunately for us, Postfix is detecting inconsistencies between IP addresses and DNS names from legitimate hosts, as below (bad), so it looks like Chris and Kevin have had some email silently rejected. We're working on a resolution to the problem. Hmmm. This is making me wonder whether being RFC-strict is going to result in my having to fix every broken thing on the net myself. Perhaps just getting things squared away with the people who regularly send mail here is good enough?
