[ALACPP] Howdy! |
Hey Folks - First: I hope I didn't subscribe anyone who didn't want to be. My apologies if I did. Second: as discussed at the first meeting last week, we will be having a meeting on this Thursday, 5/8, at noon. Mike Clement suggested we meet at Wahoo's Fish Taco on Lake Avenue in Pasadena, so that's where we'll meet, unless there's significant opposition. Third: we are currently reading Andrei Alexandrescu's _Modern C++ Design_ and will discuss the first chapter at this week's meeting. The first chapter can be found online from the book's homepage at: http://www.moderncppdesign.com/book/main.html You may want to take a moment and peruse the site; also, download Loki, Alexandrescu's generic library. It includes much of the code discussed in the book. Fourth: evening meetings. There seemed to be a consensus at the last meeting that a monthly evening meeting would be nice. Some people can't come to the lunchtime meetings, so this would give them an opportunity to participate face-to-face. Also, we could set up a small lab, for playing around with code. We need a date, a time, and a meeting place. I'll be thinking about this, and figuring out when other area groups meet, but if you have any input, please feel free to email me. Fifth: there is no fifth item. cheers, Jon -- Jon Stewart stew1@xxxxxxxxxxx _______________________________________________ alacpp mailing list alacpp@xxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.ellipsis.cx/mailman/listinfo/alacpp
