Hmm.  I've been thinking about this some more.

Maybe Peter would like to stop the clock once he's told us how he
views the situation?  Up to him, of course.  And if he says
"everyone's votes are valid" then I guess that there is no need...


And I'm basically loath to push my panic button.

First off, I don't actually see it as a problem myself, not a rule
problem.  As I said, my understanding is that the mailing list is the
legal entity for proposals, not the website.  And there is nothing
wrong with the proposals as posted to the list.

Secondly, what's the worst case scenario?  Some votes get confused, in
a one-off manner.  At most three proposals are effected, and only one
of these is a change to the functionality of the game.
